About you

  • University degree
  • Leadership experience to influence corporate decision-making
  • Mature experience of team building and capability development
  • Solid experience in FMCG and/or retail
  • Good understanding of Japanese retail landscape and shopper
  • Good understanding of marketing strategy
  • Understanding of basic financials (components of P&L)
  • Fluent in both verbal and written English and Japanese
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills & ability to work cross-functionally
  • Strategic thinker with strong logic and analytical skills
  • Dealing with ambiguity
  • Business acumen
  • Excellent presentation skills

About us

【Main Responsibilities】

 

1. Go-to-market strategy

  • Based on brand strategy and using relevant competitive benchmarks, define optimal channel mix and distribution targets by channel
  • Together with Brand Marketing team and other strategy teams, develop strong customer selling story / toolkit and execution plan to maximize launch success
  • Monitor innovation customer negotiation status before launch and performance after launch, adjust support plan where needed and perform post-launch analysis for learnings

 

2. In-market strategy

  • Continuously analyze portfolio performance by channel and identify growth opportunities & risks, and drive actions in collaboration with Brand team, Sales Committee, and key accounts
  • Maintain up-to-date portfolio ABCD prioritization by channel and monitor performance by team
  • Update key accounts about all changes to portfolio (e.g., labels, ingredients)
  • Support key accounts for business solution ideas to drive business growth

 

3. Facilitation lead for bi-annual Topline Convention

  • Together with Sr. Manager Sales Strategy, lead preparation of bi-annual Topline Convention to all topline team members
    • Venue booking and preparation
    • Learnings from previous TLC
    • Agenda preparation and time slot allocation between priorities
    • Deadlines for interim checks
    • Sharing of all materials and pre-reads
    • Follow-up sessions and feedback

 

4. Team development

  • Lead team with a clear purpose and logic, improving ways of working, and ensure effective collaboration among and beyond team
  • Performance management and development plan for team members
