Job Title – Accounting & Reconciliation Manager

Location – Danoners have the personal choice to decide where and how to work! Therefore, we support remote/flexible working for this position. Your place of work will be your home and your nearest Danone regional hub, balancing the nature of your role, the business and stakeholder needs. Danone hubs are located in London, Trowbridge & Birmingham

IBS (Integrated Business Services) Financial Control is responsible for all Accounting and Reporting of Actual results to the Danone group. You will be standardising, preparing and posting manual accruals, ensuring sufficient accuracy and timeliness.  You will have ownership of maintaining accoutning compliance and cut off whilst streamlining approval processess.  Furthermore, you will have responsibility of GL reconciliation and resolution of unreconciled or aged items.


Key Responsibilities


  • Monthly accruals
  • Use global methods to prepare and post standard manual accruals and develop local methods for standard local specific accruals
  • Standardisation of calculations and methods to prepare and post standard Manual accruals & formalised process for non-standard accruals
  • Standard accruals must follow a simplified approval process: no or one single validation
  • Ensure compliance of financial statements with Group rules for management accounts and local rules for Statutory accounts
  • Reporting
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded according to consolidated & statutory rules and monthly timetable
  • Ensure all recorded transactions have proper supporting document and are posted on a timely basis
  • Cut-off procedures are clearly defined and strictly applied: revenue recognition and cost accounting are in the right accounting period
  • Reconciliation
  • Complete monthly GL reconciliations for pre-determined accounts ensuring all GLs are reconciled
  • Develop standard reports to summarise results of monthly GL & bank reconciliations
  • Report the number and amount of unreconciled or aged items for high-risk accounts and follow up resolution
  • Advise on accounting treatments and anticipate future risks and opportunities
  • Working closely with Accounting and Reporting managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting, sharing tasks when required
  • Desire to improve inter-team processes and involvement in finance projects




  • Ensure the development of a close relationship with BU Finance
  • IBS Finance teams including P2P and I2C
  • R2R team including heads of Financial Control, Internal Control and Tax
