About the job

As Global Sr. Buyer Upstream Logistics, you will work in close cooperation with the stakeholders at global, regional and CBU level to cover Danone business requirements across the globe with all its main impacts: cost, risk, service to customers, or carbon footprint.  Together with the responsible stakeholders, you will contribute to improving an appr. 250m Euros of the category spend. 

Your main focus will be on expanding the coverage of the category to historical white space spend, with special attention for the management of Raw & Pack Upstream Logistics across the company. On top of that, you will have responsibilities for the entire Logistics category, including Market intelligence/analysis & Innovation, supplier relationship management processes, and performance management tool developments.

Other main responsibilities:

Manage R&P Upstream Logistics program as PMO

  • Benchmark all R&P Road/Ocean Freight flows to understand level of competitiveness and service levels vs the industry standard, challenge incumbent suppliers and incoterms and connect inbound lanes to the Control Tower when applicable;
  • Run cost optimization projects in close collaboration with the category teams and the Control Tower service provider including but not limited to spec, modal and network optimization, backhauling, collaborative procurement, increasing truck or container fill rate, etc.;
  • Leverage the expertise on ocean freight by helping the category teams decide the right buying terms (FOB/FCA vs CIF) and implement the right supporting logistics process;
  • Jointly design Control Tower/Storage HUB solutions with the relevant service providers and optimized via CT + storage HUB.

Strategy development for R&P Upstream Transportation

  • Build the category strategy for R&P Upstream Logistics based on the Operations strategy and in alignment with the C&P Values in close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and guide them to actively support and deploy the category strategies and activities.

Market Intelligence & Innovation of the category

  • Collect, build and share market analysis/intelligence at global / regional level, taking into account business priorities of the WBUs and actively monitor the external market conditions which might have impact on Danone Company Business;
  • Develop and share market intelligence / drivers, supplier’s knowledge, technologies evolution, innovation opportunities;
  • Structure Innovation Process with key suppliers and connect with relevant business units to translate innovation in initiatives/projects.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Lead the global SRM Development process to ensure continuous improvement in our supplier relations and support the regional/local teams in implementation;
  • Develop together with Global Category Managers best practice frame contracts and supply agreements;
  • Ensure implementation of Logistics conditions in R&P contracts;
  • Measure supplier performance through SET and develop performance scorecards for logistics (incl. risk management, suppliers capacity, quality, Total Cost, security of supply, sustainability program).​​​​​​​

About you

  • At least 5 Years of working experience as Indirect sourcing professional and/or supply chain experience;
  • Proven experience in procurement and logistics processes (tendering, negotiation, contracting, project management);
  • Rigorous, analytic thinker;
  • Team player, with excellent communication abilities, diplomatic, pragmatic;
  • Persuasive, curious, resilient;
  • Able to create sourcing strategies for the category R&P Upstream and execute significant sourcing projects to deliver our 6%+ gross productivity and net zero COGS ambition;
  • Foster great cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration with numerous stakeholders;
  • Fluent in English.
