In this role, you report to the Finance Director Danone Belgium and are the people manager of a team of 4 direct reports (Logistics, Manufacturing & Materials Controlling) and 9 indirect reports (full team of 13 people). Your team is the finance business partner for the factories of Danone Belgium (Rotselaar BE) and Alpro (Wevelgem BE, Kettering UK, Issenheim FR).

 

Your team is responsible for providing and advising higher management with financial insights to improve decision making, e.g. on investments, product innovations, budgets, opportunities, etc. Together, you lead & coordinate the budgeting process and strategic & financial projects within Operations.

 

Your key relationships in the organizations are with the FP&A Finance Team, the European & Belgian Design-to-Delivery (D2D – Operations & Supply Chain, Quality, Cycles & Procurement), the TopLine Controlling team and the Alpro EU4 Transition Team.

 

Key accountabilities:

  • Key accountabilities: you are accountable for the full COGS controlling (actuals & rolling forecast), COGS for Innovations & Transfer Pricing. You animate & pilot the productivity agenda. You also support the CAPEX process.
  • People management: You are great at coaching and engaging your team. You guide them towards delivering and executing the team objectives, in order to ensure business continuity and achieve the finance objectives.
  • Operations business partner: When you identify threats and possible business risks, you are the first to alert them, propose actions and advise the management/business domain owners.  You act as a sparring partner and provide the best possible support to the business.
  • Financial analysis: With your overarching perspective, you perform financial / ad hoc analyses and provide high-level insights in order to challenge key parameters.
  • Improvement & business development projects: With your overview on operations controlling and best practices, you evaluate the profitability of new opportunities and projects. You contribute to improvement projects within controlling and by doing so you optimize the financial support to the business and the management.
  • Policy and process definition: You contribute to the definition of the financial controlling strategy and bring direction in the team. You are in the lead in defining procedures and identifying the relevant stakeholders in order to ensure implementation of the strategy by the team.
  • Knowledge transfer: You participate in the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems, participate in local team meetings, business reviews, etc.

About you

  • You hold a Master’s Degree in Economics (e.g. Commercial Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Accountancy, etc.).
  • You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Finance, preferably within Operations Controlling, Consultancy or a similar function.
  • Experience in a Food or FMCG company is a big plus.
  • You have strong (data) analytical and communication skills, and showcase cross-functional team leadership.
  • You have strong project management skills
  • You are committed to deliver results on promises
  • You have experience as a people leader
  • You connect inside and outside: Foster collaboration with other functions and departments.
  • You think and act ahead: able to project into the future, consider different options
  • You have strong stakeholders management skills (CODI and CODI N-1)
  • You are fluent in English. Dutch and/or French is an asset.
