Head of Plant Human Resources – Danone Canada

 

The HR department head is a member of the plant’s executive committee whose primary mission is to advise and support managers and contributors of the plant’s teams.

Key HR activities are: transformation support and change management, HR lifecycle management, leadership staffing and supervision of workplace relations.

In close collaboration with the other members of the HR team, the head of the HR department is responsible for developing and implementing customized solutions to improve the organization’s performance.

 

Specifically:

  • Playing an advisory role for the executive committee and managers with regard to HR issues in order to help them become better managers and HR contributors
  • Acting as a change agent for ongoing transformation (operational performance, mobilizing vision and empowerment/engagement of plant employees)
  • Overseeing the talent pipeline and supporting leadership development plans
  • Working with the HRBP in charge of labour relations to develop the strategic labour relations plan and to prepare for collective bargaining
  • Supporting daily operations and implementing HR programs in plant departments
  • Leading plant engagement plans to significantly mobilize employees toward the organization’s vision and operational performance targets
  • Strategically advising the plant’s executive team on business issues and matters
  • Overseeing internal training and communication
  • Leading a plant HR team of 3 people

About you

 

Qualifications and skills:

  • Strong leadership
  • Agility, work ethic
  • Ability to quickly build relationships based on trust
  • Demonstrated sense of strategy
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, industrial relations or an equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as an HR generalist
  • Experience in manufacturing and labour relations
