Danone North America is looking for a Human Resources Assistant in Mount Crawford, Virginia.

 

Position Summary
The HR Assistant will provide administrative support to the Human Resources department and manufacturing teams as a business partner for recruiting, payroll, employee relations, and culture. Effective time management, approachable professionalism, and organization are key to the delivery of Company initiatives and programs and the completion of regular transactional duties and responsibilities.  The HR Assistant will function as a member of the manufacturing Human Resources team and be the HR point-of-contact for identified responsibilities.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Serve as main/initial point-of-contact in the HR department. Support HR and plant team with a high level of engagement and approachable professionalism.
  • Effectively multi-task and prioritize tasks, responsibilities, and initiatives.
  • Provide administrative/clerical support for the HR team and plant to include, but not limited to running reports, frequent ordering and local pick-up of supplies, preparing shipments, and coordinating vendor services needed for the plant. Meet daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly deadlines and requirements to support plant ordering needs and the Payroll function.
  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of HR principles, policies, processes, and technology. Provide guidance to employees where appropriate, support employees in understanding company programs and initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and Company systems to include supporting data integrity, administering payroll, and processing changes.
  • Partner with plant teams to facilitate communications related to local initiatives and publicize corporate communications to the plant. Consistently demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Partner with the HR team to support full cycle recruiting to include the coordination of job advertisements, interviews, etc. Conduct onboarding of new team members as well as exit interviews.
  • Understand employee opinions and anticipate employee needs and concerns. Keep a pulse on the environment and provide feedback to the HR team to improve policies and initiatives to enhance employee engagement and overall business performance.
  • Collaborate with HR team on projects to meet goals and objectives and own identified initiatives.
  • Operate with respect, confidence, and courage in challenging situations.
  • Continue to grow a culture of respect and engagement.
  • Maintain confidentiality and mitigate risk for the company while ensuring employee rights.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with minimum of 3–5 years of general HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office and various HR Systems
  • Flexibility: The ability to work off-hours and/or weekends, as needed
  • No conflicts of interest preferred
  • Experience working in a unionized and/or industrial environment preferred
