As Legal Counsel you will take on the responsibility legal matters across the Nordics & Baltics region, primarily supporting the businesses present in Denmark and Norway. You will work in close proximity with key stakeholders across on all levels, supporting on legal matters spanning over a variety of areas. Together with your team-members in the legal function you will cover areas such as Food Law (incl. Food for special medical purposes), Regulatory, Company law, Competition law, Anti-trust, Commercial law, Consumer, Advertising and Promotion law & regulations, Product law & regulations, Dispute resolution, Operations (procurement – industrial)/Business contracts, Sales - Distribution law, Customs and Export law, Environment law & regulations, Real Estate, Intellectual Property, Media & Marketing law, Mergers & Acquisitions/Joint Ventures, GDPR, Anti-corruption and ultimately Compliance.


You will report to Senior Legal Counsel, based in Stockholm, Sweden.


Your main responsibilities will be:


  • Independently analyze legal risks & opportunities and ultimately build legal strategies to ensure business growth.
  • Lead the management of key disputes, crisis, conflicts with consumers, customers authorities, competitors or other stakeholders.
  • Conduct legal watch and ensure comprehensive and on-going knowledge of emerging trends and subjects that have potential to impact our businesses.
  • Implement guidelines and policies that reduce legal risk and protect the assets of each business unit, proactively driving the compliance agenda.
  • Manage Business Contracts and validating contract, management of contract lifecycle.
  • Reporting legal matters to the central teams in Danone, as well as external authorities.
  • Participating and supporting legal team in audits.
  • Providing training to the business on legal topics, ensuring that employees and key stakeholders understand our legal landscape.



About you

In order to be successful in the role you have:


  • Minimum 3+ years from legal services, preferably experience working in-house.
  • Experience working in an international environment, FMCG experience is considered a merit.
  • Excellent knowledge of contract law, ability to assess legal risks in the context of the wider business.
  • Confident and impactful communication skills in one of the Nordic languages as well as English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to coordinate and prioritize projects simultaneously and adapt to change the course of action if needed.
  • Business orientation with strong influencing and networking skills.
  • Self-starter mentality with ability to work independently and remotely.
