We have 3 fantastic vacancies for strong Maintenance Technicians to join our state of the art production facility in Balclutha within a versatile Maintenance team. In this role you will provide technical support to production and ensure that production runs smoothly. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader you will be assist with documentation, asset management monitoring and work alongside external contractors.

These are permanent full-time positions, 1 working Day Shift 6am-6pm and 2 working Night Shift 6pm-6am (both 4 days on - 4 days off) with flexibility to cover engineering staff absence when needed on shift which includes weekends. 

You will

  • Take ownership of Maintenance and support production with technical support
  • Assist Maintenance Planner to execute the maintenance plan and keep track of progress daily maintenance activities and requirements 
  • Train production staff in any engineering related activities 
  • Be responsible for SOP documentation, spare parts criticality analysis and spares procurements 
  • Assist with project work to enhance plant capability and efficiency

About you


Ideally you will have:

  • Solid experience in an Engineering/Maintenance role within the food/dairy manufacturing industry
  • Trade Certificate (Advanced trade preferred) and NZ Registered Electrician preferred
  • A high level of fault-finding ability and able to work with pneumatics, PLC, correct fitting procedures for rolling element bearings; CMMS knowledge (SAP) is desirable
  • Ability to make sketches/drawings of parts to be made for plant improvements and repairs
  • Ability to work with people across levels
