Manufacturing Plant Finance Analyst - Utah

Our Finance team works with teams across the company to ensure Danone continues to grow. By joining our Finance team, you will anticipate and evaluate the financial impact of decisions and find the right way forward.  We have an opening for Finance Analyst in our West Jordan, Utah manufacturing facility.  In this role you will report directly into the plant Controller and be a visible financial leader in an active factory-floor environment.  Duties will include preparation, processing and quality of month end closing work, including SAP transactions, close analysis and corporate file updates.  Additionally, you will respond to various assignment requests from plant leadership team members, as well as work cross-functionally with other departments to understand and improve loss results, providing quality in reporting and analysis of trends.  


Additionally, you will:

  • Publish, analyze & drive follow up on key performance indicators (KPI’s)
  • In conjunction with the Finance Team, coordinate annual plant budgets and forecast preparation covering file preparation, team meetings, historical cost analysis and future cost trends
  • Provide Inventory Management Support for Raw Materials & Finish Goods
  • Troubleshoot issues in SAP inventory including clearing of COGIs and IDocs
  • Validate pallets produced per production run & raw material usages/losses
  • Perform physical counts of raw materials for inventory control as needed
  • Work with scheduling, operations & finance on resolution for inventory discrepancies
  • Supervise goods & services activity for plant purchases, including inventory, processing, and closing within SAP.
  • Assist Spare Parts Manager with accounting controls for Spare Parts
  • Identify areas of cost savings and influence key leaders in implementing savings
  • Assist Controller in monitoring internal controls covering inventory and fixed asset management and recommend course corrections where needed
  • Other roles as required to ensure successful actions to accomplish team targets
  • Assist in preparation of monthly variance reports on plant cost trends to identify linear, mix, rate and other factors within labor, utilities, plant services, other cost, and depreciation
  • Seek opportunities to improve plant accounting capability and processes
  • Work on project team for the implementation of an updated SAP system.
  • Help Controller manage capital project spending
  • Assist in creating purchase orders for Cream Sales Revenue

About you


  • You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, required.
  • You will have 3-5 years manufacturing based financial analysis experience, required.  Additionally, candidates must understand accounting principles and an understanding of GAAP principles, required.  Prior experience in a Dairy and/or food/beverage manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • You will have strong MS Excel skills and proficiency in ERP systems, required.  Prior SAP experience and proficiency in the FI, CO, MM modules is strongly preferred.   
  • You will have the ability to communicate complicated, complex activity in a clear, fluid manner and can quickly summarize data and capture quickly changing assumptions.
  • You have a strong analytical mindset, and are comfortable working in a fast paced and highly flexible environment.  You are highly organized with the ability to handle constant interruption while keeping your eyes on the target.
  • You have effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills required to interact with all levels of plant personnel and be comfortable working with minimal supervision.
  • You have the ability to serve as a change agent who can "make it happen" while building positive relationships on a foundation of trust and mutual respect.
  • You are energetic, resilient, determined, and enthusiastic with strong analytical skills to challenge the status quo.
  • You are able to rapidly assess, analyze, and quickly resolve complicated problems with little initial information or direction and with varying degrees of ambiguity.
  • You are willing to work flexible schedules as needed to support 7-day per week, 24-hour per day production facilities. Work schedules could include occasional off-shift or weekend work.
  • You are self-motivated and have a desire to grow and progress to higher more demanding roles within Finance.
