The Vacancy

Danone Specialised Nutrition has a very high focus on service level, cost and inventory. The Planning Team is a critical interface between the markets, the Business Units, the Supply Point supporting functions and the Supply Point Finance Team. The team holds the key to factory capacity (in S&OP), the management of FG inventory to meet CSL and DOH targets, and the scheduling instructions for the factory. We are lookin to recruit a Planning Manager for a 9 month fixed term contract. This role is part of a Supply Chain Leadership Team, a key site SIM stakeholder, and part of an upstream network of Planning Managers.  

 

The product complexity, portfolio changes from innovation and renovation and key raw material challenges provide an excellent opportunity for you to lead, develop and elevate a service and results-focused team of Planners and find new ways for the team to add value. This team has a current strong performance and has many Customer Service Level routines which are well-established, so you will have time to focus on innovating in the areas of Demand Analysis, Materials Planning and S&OP input.

With a global network of stakeholders (CBU Supply Chain, Global Supply Chain, SN Planning, AMN Operations Projects & Performance, Central Quality teams etc..) as well as local (Operations, Quality, Scheduling teams), you will have a prominent and influential position in the Operations network, which will give you a great platform to create a strong profile.

 

What will you bring to the role? You will have manufacturing planning experience (demand, supply), ideally gained in FMCG, Food or Pharma, to support the team with planning activity and to be able to challenge their ways of working.

An excellent communicator, you will have well developed stakeholder engagement skills, able to build relationships and be decisive on communications when it does really matter

Additionally, you will have a tenacious approach to operational issues and remain controlled under pressure, able to formulate clear summaries of risks and proposals.

You will also need to have great IT skills within SAP (R/3, APO) and Excel to analyse data, present summaries and draw conclusions credibly.

What does day to day look like?

 

  • Team lead / motivation / people / training orga / develop team skills and autonomy 
  • Make sure that capacity on the mid/long term is aligned with the demand and R&O. 
  • Assure service level and availability to customers 
  • Assure monthly input to the factory S&OP process from other departments (production, technical, projects, etc) Assure timeliness and correctness of submission to global team of monthly S&OP input
  • Align with finance on RF volumes and stock projections 
  • Optimize stock management processes: stock rework, blocked stocks, safety stocks optimization…. 
  • Continuous improvement of stability of planning process; find balance between factory interests and delivering service to customers. 
  • Build a close relationship with the Quality and Business Unit teams and set priorities where needed. 
  • Assure proper communication process and routines in place, as part of a site SIM framework
