Are you a Packaging Innovator with deep expertise in rigid packaging development? Do you want to be part of an international team with global responsibilities? Do you want to play an active role in the packaging transformation at Danone Specialized Nutrition and explore the next frontier of technologies and experiences that will be critical to engaging our vulnerable consumers – infants, toddlers, expecting mothers, the elderly and patients?

 

As a Senior Packaging Manager you will be part of establishing a leading innovation practice, and, fostering collaborative internal and external partnerships. The synthesis of these elements will enable the global packaging team to identify, imagine, create, validate, and transition disruptive packaging solutions, with a particular focus on metal packaging as well as rigid plastic.

  • Deploy with excellence while meeting the success criteria (time, quality and cost) for our big bets on the Metal Can category.
  • Build packaging center of excellence for tin knowledge and expertise on material science, processes and manufacturing skills.
  • Create/maintain overview of internal and external technologies for defined packaging area (material / design / process);
  • Translate business strategy to needed technology development by delivering approved briefing and business cases;
  • Influence the development programs of our strategic suppliers towards the needed technology developments;
  • Have a global network of suppliers and education institutes to know all technology developments in defined packaging area;
  • Act as technical adviser, give support to solve technical issues, coach more junior project managers, leverage the team;
  • Bring continuously innovation ideas from external world.

You will be part of the global Research & Innovation Packaging team and will report into the Sr Team Leader Packaging.

 

About you

You are an experienced Packaging Engineer and have rich experience in  in metal packaging and/or rigid plastics development and innovation.
Next to that, you bring:

  • At least 7 years of experience in packaging development and medium- long term innovation
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in packaging engineering, mechanical engineering, material engineering or similar discipline.
  • A high degree of technical knowledge balanced with creative ability
  • Experience in working with early stage product development, and identifying and capitalizing on technology trends
  • Passion for packaging and innovation with proven ability to deliver this through a global organization
  • Determination to achieve an end result, and optimism and enthusiasm when things don't go to plan
  • Good problem solving, leadership and influencing skills
  • Outstanding Team player
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to create, plan and deliver presentations to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • 100% fluency in English (spoken and written) is a must
