About the Job:

Danone North America is seeking an experienced leader with a proven track record of managing Costco. As VP Sales - Costco Wholesale, your role will be to lead the Costco sales team to grow the Danone North America business across all Costco sales divisions. You will be required to provide leadership, direction, and stewardship while building and executing key strategies that support customer goals and internal sales targets. Additionally, you’ll be required to provide cross functional leadership to develop our brands and businesses (e.g., marketing, finance, category management, R&D, shopper marketing, supply chain, etc.)  manage a remote sales team and develop the right talent for both present and future needs.  

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • P&L Ownership, accountable for the Costco financial plan and achieving goals set for profitable sales, market share, and other key financial performance objectives.
  • Sales Planning, lead the Costco team in developing annual sales plans / budgets by category and SKU focused on driving value differentiation and be accountable for the integrity of those plans.
  • Align the sales organization’s objectives with business strategy through participation in strategic planning, sales strategy development, forecasting, sales resource planning, and budgeting. Also, identify when plan adjustments are needed based on monthly and quarterly sales volumes and trade spend versus budget and enroll team on necessary changes.
  • Through active, productive partnerships be the primary advocate for Costco, representing both the voice of the customer and the company, and balancing the needs of Costco with those of the business.
  • Drive change by continuously assessing the club channel business / customer needs, championing change initiatives with BU’s, and removing obstacles impeding constructive change.
  • Continually evaluate competitors, retailers and their marketing and sales techniques.
  • Manage the demand planning S&OP process to monitor forecast versus plans.
  • Ability to enroll cross functional internal resources/experts (marketing, finance, category management, customer planning, shopper marketing, etc.) to achieve desired results with the customer.
  • Collaborate closely with Sr. Leadership to plan growth strategies and ensure consistent alignment. Also, provide executive level reporting / presentations on the status of on-going projects and future business plans.

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Prior experience working within the Club Channel is a must

About You:

  • You have a minimum of 4yr Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience.
  • You have at least 10 years of progressive experience in sales leadership positions within CPG industry
  • You have a deep understanding of Costco both at the region and corporate levels as well as managing relationships at the headquarters level.
  • You have prior experience leading cross functional teams (catman, shopper marketing, retail, etc.)
  • You have demonstrated a strong ability to achieve breakthrough results through the course of work
  • You have a strong track record of attracting, developing, and maintaining high performers
  • You are comfortable with managing a complex, fragmented business
  • You have excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)

The base compensation range for this position is $175,000-$230,000. Danone North America additionally offers a performance-based bonus and has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options.
