Compensation & Benefits Manager


As Compensation & Benefits Manager, you will work in close cooperation with the HR Lead to ensure our local reward programs are aligned with business and HR strategies, and are competitive and locally compliant. You will work in close cooperation with all divisions in Belgium (Danone, Alpro, Nutricia and Waters) ensuring consistency with global reward guidelines across all businesses.


You seek to harmonize ways of working and work to ensure competitiveness, equity and fairness. You keep up to date with C&B local market practices and legislation.


You ensure all reward practices and initiatives are fully aligned with company guidelines and local legal frame.


You continuously collaborate with the Administration & Payroll and other relevant teams, to ensure full coordination in all needed cross-stream processes and projects and to provide an effective day to day reward management.


In this role you will be part of the Expertise & Talent Cycles team, reporting to the HR lead. This team is responsible for all Talent Management, Training & learning and Reward activities for Danone Belgium

On top, this role comes with a great level of flexibility in terms of working location. We offer you the possibility to work from both our Ghent or Brussels office, in combination with remote or home working.


Your key responsibilities are:


  • Support the HR Lead Expertise and Talent Cycles in delivering the C&B annual plans, leading and collaborating in a selected number of projects
  • Define and build harmonization plans where necessary
  • Manage local benchmark exercises. Monitor external and internal competitiveness and propose any needed corrective actions in alignment with company/local practices
  • Manage annual salary review campaign
  • Design and implement C&B trainings/communication plans, resulting in increased awareness of Reward policy and C&B programs
  • Ensure all relevant supporting documents on compensation policies are shared with (and known by) our key stakeholders and are kept up to date
  • Support the HR community with complex cases/questions


About you

You obtained a relevant Bachelor or Master degree and a solid professional HR experience, mainly centered within the area of Compensation & Benefits. You are able to express yourself fluently in Dutch, French and English. 

If you have experience in a complex and fast moving international environment or in consultancy firm  is a plus.

  • Have knowledge of local laws, regulations and procedures governing Compensation & Benefits
  • Have experience in  working with external compensation consultants and other third party solution providers
  • Have strong analytical skills and ability to drive data driven decision making
  • Are result driven
  • Are able to connect and build trustful relations with different stakeholders at local and global level
  • Foster openness and a collaborative mindset to act as One Team with our HR/Business stakeholders. You demonstrate empathy and deep respect for people
  • Like staying abreast of the latest developments, best practices and trends in HR
