Mission and Main Responsibilities


Responsible for managing all organic and conventional Producer Relationship Managers (PRM’s) and dairy farm relationships across the United States. The position entails building strategy, streamlining the communication, and enhancing the relationship with our Farmer Partners. This will be done by ensuring compliance of the National Organic Program, animal welfare, economic, quality, and the Danone Sustainable Agriculture (DSA) program standards.




  • Develop the mid and long-term strategy for Danone North America’s milk supply
  • Establish the proper portfolio of farms in the region to better align with the supply demand balance
  • Continue to evolve the level of transparency with CPM (Cost Performance Model) farms on the cost of production and develop strategies with farmers to drive continuous improvement
  • Create continuity across the PRM team and key internal business partners by allowing for oversight of both organic and conventional dairies in their region




  • Communicate vision and status to senior leadership through regular updates
  • Connection with the central purchasing team to ensure continuity to the global strategy
  • Create a network of communication channels between the farms and Danone
    • Collect best practices and distribute throughout the network
    • Define program goals, structure, and expectations of farmers
    • Represent Danone at local and regional events with dairy farmers and processors, relevant trade shows, conferences, and workshops.
  • Strengthen the relationship and provide support to the PRMs regular regional site visits
  • Supply content to the internal communications team to better support internal and external initiatives


Producer Relationship Management


  • Maintain extraordinary relationships between Danone NA and our farmer partners
  • Serve as primary point of contact for PRMs in the region
  • Single point of contact for concerns or inquiries
  • Develop, follow. Implement, and monitor productivity or efficiency project with farms
  • Create network of farmer partners aligned with Danone KPIs
  • In partnership with the Milk Quality Director, define follow-up and recommendations on quality
  • Ensure all certificates are in place (Validus, IMS, Insurance, etc)
  • Proactively look for ways to reduce negative impacts on the environment
  • Lead implementation and overall management of the Danone Standards
  • Be the subject matter expert in both Organic and Conventional dairy operations
  • Ensure delivery of milk quality, on-farm sustainability, cost performance, and service level for all farms in Danone’s partner network

 Professional Experience/Education needed


  • Minimum BS in related field (animal science, agronomy, dairy nutrition, etc.)
  • Minimum 15 years work experience in organic and conventional dairy market
  • Excel and or MicroStrategy proficiency a plus
  • Direct experience working on or operating dairy farm
  • Strong project management and project leadership skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally both in corporate and agricultural environment
  • Strong networking skills and credibility among peers

The base compensation range for this position is $120-150K.
