The EU & AMEA Beverage Carton Senior Buyer is a key member of the Cycles & Procurement team, responsible for managing an annual spend of €80M,

executing the Category Strategy, and leading projects. This role involves maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholder, negotiating contracts, monitoring supplier performance, and driving productivity, innovation and sustainability initiatives.

Category Scope: EU, Africa & Middle East

Responsibilities:

• Manage an annual spend of €80M for Beverage Carton in EU, Africa, and the Middle East.
• Develop and manage the strategy for the Category on a day-to-day basis, including a 3-year strategy for the regions.
• Identify and lead or support bottom-line (tender, negotiation) and top-line (innovation, sustainability) projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of products and services.
• Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and oversee the delegation of authority process (DOA) and develop cost models to optimize sourcing strategies and achieve cost savings.
• Lead and support innovation initiatives, develop business continuity plans, and monitor supplier performance.
• Build and manage a stakeholder network across Danone, suppliers, and competitors, while driving the Packaging Transformation journey and monitoring financials.

We are looking for experienced Category Buyer with Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and experience in direct materials procurement for 5+ years. 

Furthermore you have: 

• Strong analytical skills.
• Self-driven personality with a focus on Compliance, Alignment, and Innovation.
• Highly structured and systematic approach.
• Proven skills in Communication, Influencing, and Stakeholder Management.
• Fluency in English is a must; proficiency in French is a bonus.
• Ability to perform in a complex and fast-moving environment.
• Experience in Category Management in Purchasing.
• Understanding of the Packaging industry and markets, especially beverage cartons, is an advantage.
• Team player, pragmatic, and self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, SAP, and Digital sourcing tools is an advantage.
• Willing to travel.
