As EU R&I Packaging Compliance & Master Data Engineer you are part of the EU R&I Packaging team, which is responsible for the development and implementation of innovations, renovations and product/packaging interaction projects. You’ll be working from our offices in Wevelgem. You report directly to the EU R&I Packaging Compliance & Master Data Manager in France, with a proximity manager, the EU R&I Packaging Manager, located in Wevelgem. As EU R&I Packaging Compliance & Master Data Engineer you are responsible for the coordination of overall actions to establish the compliance of packaging of our products within the framework of legal obligationas and internal procedures. You are involved in the execution of the Food Safety Deliverables. Next to that, you ensure that the files are complete and compliant with the various Danone procedures and you manage the master data of the packaging components.


Your key responsibilities include:

  •  Ensure food safety compliance of packaging developed in Europe
  •  Contribute to the development of the overall packaging expertise of the service and the business
  •  Assist and advise packaging developers in the choice of packaging tests to ensure food safety compliance of packaging Globally, with Europe as main focus
  •  Make global and specific migration simulations using the tool developed by the DFSC (Danone Food Safety Compliance) team
  •  Manage orders to specialized and accredited external laboratories and ensure that reports are received, analyzed and results are met
  •  Set up a database/computerized system to group all Specifications & Food Safety files on all projects developed by the R&D team
  •  Align with Packaging Compliance community to share knowledge and way of working
  •  Develop support tools for EU packaging engineers to simplify the development and monitoring of food safety compliance
  •  Manage the packaging items in the PLM database and give the requested information to the master data teams & General secretary
  •  Manage & update the technical drawings and specification sheets in the different data bases

About you

To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have:

  •  A Master or Bachelor degree in Science or Engineering (starter) with some experience in a similar position in an industrial environment or related to technical processes; or experience with technical administration in packaging food safety & master data
  •  The ability to combine an analytical mindset with a quality attitude and have a strong interest in technical processes
  •  A flexible mindset and be a team-player, but next to that you can work perfectly independent
  •  An autonomous and pro-active approach, you are mature and driven to go for results
  •  Project management skills and work in a structural way
  •  Knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications
  •  Fluent communication skills in English. Knowledge of Dutch/French is an asset.
