About the job

As EU Sr. Buyer Logistics you will be contributing to the category strategy definition for Pallet and for Warehousing, while ensuring implementation across all the clusters in Europe for the 3 product categories (EDP, SN, Waters). You will negotiate supply agreements, lead regional tenders and support local initiatives, supplier innovation, cost reduction programs and Market Risk Management.

Productivity is a key component for Danone in order to maximize efficiencies and deliver significant levels of savings through a combination of Sourcing and Demand Management, using a proven ZBB (Zero-Based Budgeting) methodology. You will be a key contributor to the Pallet and for the Warehousing categories in the region and will ensure the identification and supervision of the delivery of local savings and the spend challenge on an ongoing basis.

Other main responsibilities:

  • Build and share market analysis at regional level taking into account global / regional Logistics category guidance and business context
  • Define Europe Regional Category Strategy and Go to Market strategy
  • Execute Request For Quotation (RFQ), manage tenders process and negotiations in coordination with CBU’s and C&P Europe & Global team
  • Propose and implement action plans to manage supply & quality risks
  • Develop and share market intelligence / drivers, supplier knowledge, new technologies, innovation/opportunities.
  • Optimize supplier portfolio according to strategy. Measure supplier performance through internal processes.
  • Negotiate contracts and supply agreements and ensure implementation in all CBUs.
  • Guarantee category performance: risk management, suppliers capacity, quality, Total Cost, security of supply, sustainability program.
  • Develop network with supply chain teams, connect with external experts and other industries.
  • Act as the Single Point of Contact for the Supply Chain Leaders of the various BUs and part of the Europe C&P Logistics leadership team.
  • Contribute to the knowledge development of the procurement team
  • Maintains ongoing connection with Europe & Global Logistics category teams
  • Supports top programs’ delivery within category in the region

About you

  • At least 7 years of relevant professional background in Purchasing or Supply Chain, ideally with experience in outsourcing and warehousing management
  • Solid procurement functional competencies: strategic purchasing, negotiation, project management, internal and external relationship management, legal basics knowledge in contracts/liabilities
  • Strong communication skill
  • Experience in cross functional collaboration model
  • Business acumen / cross functional understanding
  • Connecting inside and outside the organization
  • Fluency in English is required; additionally, French is preferred
