The Global Category and Shopper Marketing Lead is responsible for developing and implementing with our Country Business Units (CBUs) executing comprehensive category and shopper marketing strategies across multiple regions. This role involves leading the analysis of market trends, shopper behavior, and competitive landscape to drive category growth and enhance shopper engagement.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of category and shopper marketing initiatives with overall business objectives. This is a critical role as ensuring the right translation of our marketing plans into the retailer language to land our global branded initiatives.

The role integrates 2 parts:

  1. Category. The responsibility of developing & implementing global category strategies to drive market share & sales growth but also defining category vision for the trade on our Early Life Nutrition (ELN) & medical categories across channels. Next to this, also developing toolkits of implementation for the CBUs to deliver a business impact.
  2. Shopper marketing. The responsibility of developing & implementing a Global Shopper Marketing Strategy and defining our communication in stores in line with our consumer communications. As an objective to drive shopper engagement, across channels + developing toolkits of implementation for the CBUs to deliver a business impact.

The cross-functional element will be critical in this role that opens the opportunity to work closely with our Global & Local Marketing teams, our Strategy & Insights Team, as well as our Global Channels Leads. There will be an important part as well of liaising with external agencies & vendors to develop & execute our category & shopper Initiatives.

Another responsibility will be the liaison with the CBUs as the objective will be to also ensure the relevance of our strategies & visions with the local reality of the countries, and to support them in implementing & executing them, which opens a great opportunity of cross functional leadership. Also providing ongoing training and development opportunities for the CBUs.

This is the perfect opportunity to deliver in further input for success factors to the categories to mix of product & services that will drive business growth.

Due to this, you should be able to think across brands, categories, account/retailers & channels.

The role will report into the Global SN Category & Sales Director.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in Category Management, Shopper Marketing, or related roles in a global organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful category and shopper marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional team.
  • A result driven mindset is key for this position.
  • Experience managing budgets and demonstrating ROI on marketing initiatives.
  • Leadership experience with a history of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Ability to motivated and engagement senior stakeholders and stakeholders across other countries. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
