AT A GLANCE, YOU WILL
About the job
As the factory of the future and the largest Danone diary factory in Europe, we are challenged on driving performance to the maximum and creating great work circumstances for our operators. To meet those expectations, we are continuously working on optimization projects, wherein we could use your help via an Internship or a Master Thesis Project.
Get a great first taste of life in "FMCG" (aka "fast moving consumer goods) in a young, dynamic, enthusiastic and incredibly talented team. You may just have found your first dream job! Hungry to apply?
About the project:
In this internship, you will join a production unit (with a total of +-70 operators led by 4 teamleaders) reporting to the production unit manager and working in close collaboration with the performance coordinator and operators. Your task will be to supporting them in optimizing the production packaging area by working on the effectiveness of changeovers. Your assignment will be approached in several steps, where your end goal is to reduce the total changeovers time within the production unit (reduction in costs and increase in efficiency). The first part of the assignment will be the collection of data during the different shifts. For this we need a person who is flexible to come from time to time during night and weekend shifts. A second part of the assignment is the data analytics (SMED, Spaghetti, comparison between teams, …) to find out the most efficient way of working and the waste during the activity and investigating what the impact of the ideal planning is on those changeover losses. Building on this the third part will be the optimization and standardization of the changeovers over the different shifts. Hereby methods as work instructions, SMED, … will be used to avoid any forms of waste. In the latest stage of the project, the final data should be analyzed, and gain should be calculated compared to the changeover time before the project started.
An addition to the above the project should be ended by technical engineering proposals to optimize the changeovers with a practical approach on cost reduction.
- Your day-to-day task will be focused on lean thinking.
- Together with the Performance coordinator and Performance mgr. and Production unit mgr.
- The scope of the job is multi-channel: Analyzing of changeovers, optimize and executing the proposed optimizations (PDCA)
- You'll closely collaborate with your colleagues in different functions, for example: planning, production, quality, …
About you
You preferably hold a Master Degree (f.ex. Industrial Engineering - Electromechanics - Technical (Maintenance/Projects) or relevant bachelor degree.
- You are (almost) freshly graduated, hungry for a first experience in production or looking for a fascinating master thesis or internship
- Educational level: Master or bachelor degree
- You are passionate about Industry, Innovation, Automation, Quality & Food Safety or so much more within the world of FMCG and machinery
- You are analytical, punctual and hands-on: You’re highly driven and do not settle for a status quo or the average
- You have a flexible mindset: you are proactive and can work independent with an eagerness to learn
- You are fluent in Dutch (as communication with the operators is critical)
