The Sr. Customer Business Manager on Food Lion will lead selling, planning, and commercialization efforts for select portions of the Danone portfolio with the goal of meeting business plan and performance objectives. This role will take on 100% direct customer contact responsibilities across multiple buying teams. This individual will be an integral part of the sales organization and should demonstrate strong strategic internal and customer focused planning/management skills.

The Sr. CBM for Food Lion will approach the business with a bias for action and detailed project management organization with well informed decisions and taking appropriate risks to move the business forward. This person should have a strong skillset in developing customer relationships at multiple levels along with strong cross-functional relationships that lead to a better overall team dynamic. Through strong customer leadership, this individual will deliver meaningful results within both developed and new categories. Further developing Ahold with Danone will require strong customer dedication, leadership, and a proven general manager mindset.

 

You will:

  • Play an integral role in working with cross-functional teams to build a sustainable growth plan through assortment development and promotional management.
  • Manage strategy, execution, and planning with Ahold.
  • Influence, motivate, and inspire team development through Danone's CODES and development conversations.
  • Communicate in a timely fashion both written and verbally with customer and internal stakeholders, ensuring that both good news and bad news is shared with equal level of detail.
  • Maintain customer relationships at multiple levels while also building strong internal cross-functional relationships to achieve agreed upon distribution and sales goals.
  • Identify opportunities and build plans to execute those opportunities.
  • Lead the negotiation process for all new assortment and promotional opportunities and engage appropriate support when help is needed.
  • Identify critical, high payoff strategies and prioritize efforts consistent with the organization's goals and long-term vision.
  • Monitor performance (in stocks, shipments, pricing, promotional materials) and establish regular business reviews with the customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure agreed upon sales volume and profit goals are achieved; make suggestions that enhance the organization's financial position; spending profitability.
  • Display vision and a keen sense of the future; seek new business/distribution opportunities.
  • Proactively analyze potential problems to avoid emergency situations.
  • Lead business planning efforts through frequent connectivity and alignment with the Sales Planning team, ensuring trade and volume is properly planned for and secured.
  • Manage and grow your people (2 direct reports)

 

 

About you

  • 4 year business degree
  • 5+ years of CPG Customer Business Management experience
  • Category Management Background or Experience (preferred, not required)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Takes initiative to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness in getting things accomplished.
  • Anticipates obstacles and develops contingency plans.
  • Delivers projects and initiatives within budget requirements.
  • Sets realistic goals that are relevant to department and company strategies.

The base compensation range for this position is $125,000-$170,000 commensurate with experience. Danone North America additionally offers a performance-based bonus and has a strong benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drug Coverage, 401k Plan, Wellness Program, Life Insurance, Tuition Reimbursement, Flexible Time Off, and Paid Parental Bonding Leave, among other benefit plan options.
