About the job

The Sr. Market Manager, East - Northeast is responsible for leading retail execution, sales performance, and people development across a broad geographic territory.  This role will initially be hiring and managing up to four (4) -Retail Sales Representatives who will serve as the frontline ambassadors of our brands at store level, with potentially more next year.

Responsibilities include: hiring, developing talent, delivering key in-store metrics to drive availability, accessibility and activation.  They will work to optimize territory route management, partner with customer District Managers, and work cross-functionally internally to drive alignment. The role requires analytical rigor, prioritization skills, and the ability to handle operational complexity.  The Sr. Market Manger, East - Northeast role will report to the Director, Retail Execution East.

Key Deliverables

  • Lead, coach, and develop initial four (4) and up to ten (10) Retail Sales Representatives by H1 2027, ensuring strong training, performance management, and field capability.
  • Conduct regular store visits, work-withs, and capability assessments to build executional excellence.
  • Deliver in-store execution KPIs including distribution, merchandising standards, display execution, and promotional readiness.
  • Optimize territory design, routing, and coverage to maximize productivity and sales impact.
  • Analyze and interpret data (POS, distribution gaps, competitive insights) to drive action and influence customer partners.
  • Meet regularly with customer District Managers to elevate performance and secure incremental opportunities.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for store-level challenges related to inventory, out-of-stocks, display issues and competitive activity.
  • Represent Danone’s priorities in the field and bring customer insights back to internal teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales to align priorities and execution standards at the customer level.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting through field systems and scorecards.
  • Performance Tracking: Review team members results, coach for improvement and excel in areas of strength
  • Ensure RSR’s meet or exceed execution standards reflecting priorities and delivering performance metrics.
  • Maintain ongoing consistent scorecard reporting to drive performance visibility and accountability.
  • Champion process discipline, standard operating procedures, and consistent execution routines.
  • Drive accountability with direct reports and customers through clear expectations, consistent routines, and performance tracking.

The base compensation range for this position is $125,000 - $160,000 commensurate with experience. About you

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5–8 years of experience in retail execution, sales leadership, or CPG field management.
  • Desired experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and convert insights into action.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage complexity, prioritize effectively, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with POS or syndicated data systems.
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel across a large geographic territory.
  • Physical ability to support retail environments (occasional lifting up to 50 lbs).
  • Travel / days in field anticipated up to 50 – 60%
