Our Summer Internship Experience (SIE) is a 10-week program that allows students to dive into a project relevant to their studies to further grow and develop their learnings. During our 10-week program you will participate in trainings, development sessions, as well as lots of exciting programming!

 

The dates of our 2025 Program will be June 2nd, 2025 – August 9th, 2025, and will consist of a 35-40 hour work week.

 

INTERN PROGRAM: The Danone North America (DNA) Research & Innovation (R&I) team is responsible for leading the ideation, development, and ongoing management of products for the DNA Brands. The intern program aims to provide individuals with the opportunity to gain valuable R&I industry experience through real-world assignments, culminating in a presentation of project results to R&I leaders.

 

LOCATION:  Louisville, CO, USA

ASSIGNMENTS MAY INCLUDE: The Product Development Intern may assist in a number of project support roles in the Research & Innovation department. Specific project responsibilities will be identified 30-60 days prior to the start of the internship, based on business need and intern interests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage scientific expertise and complete projects using appropriate research, statistical methods, and technical reporting.
  • Plan, execute, and manage the development of prototype products & processes in lab and pilot plant.  Maintain stringent technical and experiment documentation.
  • Develop supplier relationships to deliver against project needs.
  • Complete lab testing and shelf life studies as needed.
  • Leverage sensory and consumer testing insights to create great-tasting, high-performing products that delight consumers and are superior to the competitive set.
  • Work with, and provide technical product leadership, to cross-functional teams including but not limited to Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Quality Assurance.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to lead projects through all phases of the stage gate process.
  • Familiarity with certification programs preferred but not required (such programs may include non-GMO Project, USDA Organic, Kosher, Vegan, Gluten Free).

About you

  • Candidate must be pursuing a four-year undergraduate degree with a graduation date after August 2025, have completed courses, in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Food Processing, or a related major.
  • Proven leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to identify areas of opportunity and take action
  • A high level of competence in computer applications and the ability to use technology as a decision-support tool
  • Ability to identify and evaluate tactical methods to achieve objectives, identify deviations from the plan, and facilitate resolution
  • Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion within and outside of the organization
  • Previous internship or work experience is highly preferred
  • Interest in the consumer-packaged goods / manufacturing industry with the desire to start a career with Danone Brands after graduation (strongly preferred)

The base compensation range for this position is $25-28 per hour.
