About the job
Light + Fit is on a mission to empower women to achieve economic equity. As part of this mission, we have set up a returnship in conjunction with our parent company, Danone North America, for professionals looking to return to the workforce after a career break. This returnship will help re-acquaint returners with a collaborative and supportive workplace environment, with additional training and mentorship to help employees ramp up and re-acclimate to the workplace.
KEY RETURNSHIP BUILDING BLOCKS:
- Mentorship
- Access to one direct manager 2x weekly
- Manager will be your main point of contact. Will provide project guidance and feedback, team specific information, team navigation, and ongoing coaching for returnee.
- Access to one mentor 1x a month
- Mentor to provide secondary point of contact for returnee. Can help navigate the broader Danone landscape, recommend networking opportunities, and review projects as a second set of eyes.
- Access to senior leaders for career guidance
- We plan to host one session for the returnship cohort featuring Danone female leaders sharing their stories, experiences, and recommendations
- Shadowing
- Opportunity to shadow employees in other disciplines for further experience and training
- Training
- Cross functional training sessions to gain exposure and network with other functions.
- Can opt in to as many trainings as deemed necessary, leveraging current Danone Brand Academy sessions and other trainings.
- Trainings will be dependent on candidate needs and can be discussed with manager.
- Project Ownership for on-the-job experience
- Cross functional training sessions to gain exposure and network with other functions.
- Access to one direct manager 2x weekly
ROLES + RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive one key project
- Project will be tailored to candidate experience and their goals in the returnship program; overarching themes include a research phase and an activation phase, both of which require cross-functional collaboration, to allow for broader networking
- Returnee will help oversee progress and success of project
- Final project will be presented to manager and other team members
- Interface with cross-functional teams to help execute project and support in key day to day business activities
- Attend Weekly Team Meetings (have role in agenda setting + one key topic/week)
- Attend Key Business Meetings related to project and team
- Please note: Light + Fit is hosting the returnship, but returnees have placement opportunities across full Danone portfolio
CANDIDATE CRITERIA:
- EXPERIENCE: 3+ years experience in in any of the following areas: finance, trade, category management, brand marketing, brand design, consumer engagement, e-commerce, sales or other applicable industry/role experience
- LENGTH: 12-week program, beginning in September after Labor Day
- LOOKING FOR: Candidates with existing work experience who have taken an extended career break (break can be for any reason)
- BREAK LENGTH: 1+ year(s) off
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- COMPENSATION: $25-30 /hour
- LOCATION: Candidates should be in the White Plains, NY or Broomfield, CO areas. They should be available to work a hybrid work schedule with a mix of in-office and remote work.

- Self-starter and independent thinker that’s willing to roll up their sleeves and jump in head-first
- Ability to work with others proactively and collaboratively in a cross-matrix organization
- Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to complete assigned projects simultaneously with direction from one or more team members
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Good analytical skills
- Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
