About the Job:  

 

We are currently looking to hire a Benefits and Payroll Specialist

 

The Benefits and Payroll Specialist coordinates and manages employee benefits programs and ensures accurate and timely payroll processing. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with experience in payroll systems, particularly ADP Workforce Now, to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies while providing quality service to employees.

 

This is a hybrid position with an expectation of 3 days per week onsite in Broomfield, CO. 

 

Reports to: Chief Human Resources Officer and General Counsel

 

In this role, you will be responsible for:  

  • Administer day-to-day benefit related activities to include new hire enrollments, terminations, COBRA administration, invoice reconciliation and file feeds.
  • Ensure accuracy in file feeds or other operational reporting capabilities/connections between ADP and providers.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, life, and disability plans, retirement plan, leaves of absence, and other employee-related benefits.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure benefits are administered effectively, and employees are appropriately and timely informed of changes and developments related to benefits, including eligibility and coverage type provisions,
  • Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and federal/state regulations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of employer contributions and employee payroll deductions to carriers, plan administrators, or other appropriate service providers.
  • Complete, confirm and/or maintain records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Verify and maintain timekeeping records, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation for payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, salary changes).
  • Prepare and maintain payroll-related reports and analyses for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations, including IRS regulations, FMLA guidelines, COBRA, HIPPA and ERISA requirements.
  • Assist with audits related to payroll and benefit plans/programs, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Prepare and provide employee data or census reports with necessary information and appropriate information required for the Company or its consultant to conduct requests for proposal (“RFP”) or requests for information (“RFI”) from benefit providers.
  • Participate in HR process to identify and select benefit providers and make plan design decisions, in conjunction with other members of HR team and the company’s third-party advisors/consultants,
  • Monitor and manage administrators’ and insurance carriers’ reports to ensure the organization’s compliance with plan requirements.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This is a non-exempt position. The base compensation range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46 per hour which equates to $65k-$80k annually, commensurate with experience.

About you

Competencies and Skills: 

  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and benefits compliance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Good working knowledge of COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS/HCM software, with strong emphasis on proficiency in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration required, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Experience using ADP Workforce Now required.
