As our Site Utility Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that all technical utilities on the Wevelgem site run reliably, efficiently, and safely. You will lead the Utility Department, shaping its longterm vision and making sure it is equipped to tackle future challenges in a fast-changing, highperformance production environment. You report directly to the Plant Director

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Lead the Utility Department and develop a future‑proof vision aligned with site and global objectives.
  • Translate business needs into technical actions and long‑term improvement plans.
  • Manage the Utility maintenance budget and ensure operational cost control.

 

Utilities & Maintenance Management

  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of all site utilities in all circumstances.
  • Monitor utility consumption and initiate actions for efficiency improvements.
  • Follow up on productivity projects and drive continuous optimization within Utility domains.

 

People Leadership & Development

  • Manage and develop Utility teams (supervisors, process leads, technicians, coordinators, admin).
  • Build the right competences and expertise within the team to match future site needs.
  • Inspire and motivate employees on the shop floor through coaching and presence.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Safety, Quality, Production, Finance, HR and other departments.
  • Liaise with suppliers, consultants, and external partners.
  • Present business updates and roadmaps to the Plant Leadership Team.

 

Key Deliverables

  • Reliable and safe utility operations at all times.
  • Contribution to site‑wide technical strategies, including maintenance, energy, automation and CAPEX.
  • Securing resources, capabilities and knowledge to support the long‑term vision.

A propos de vous

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in utilities, engineering, maintenance, production or automation within a complex industrial environment. Experience in a large industrial site is a strong advantage.
  • Strong technical & analytical mindset, able to switch between long‑term vision and hands‑on execution.
  • Broad interest in new technologies and innovation.
  • Effective people leadership: coaching, developing and motivating technical teams.
  • Process‑minded with the ability to connect across departments.
  • Solid project management skills (planning, prioritization, follow‑up).
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable working with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated results in continuous improvement or operational excellence.
