Global Commercial Manager Waters 

 

As we continue to drive our Renew Danone strategy, world-class Customer and Commercial leadership are central to accelerating our growth.  To achieve this ambition, it is critical that our customers share our conviction in our categories’ growth potential, and in Danone’s unique ability to unlock that growth for our customers through best-in-class products, consumer/shopper expertise and activation/marketing that drives transactions. To this end, we are establishing a Global Commercial Manager role to lead the commercialisation of our water category strategies and to work with CBUs & global sales to enable operationalisation with customers and in-store.   

 

We are looking for our future Danoner to join the Global Commercial Strategy & Execution Team in Paris.

This position will be based at our headquarters and can start as early as today, depending on your availability, with an open-ended contract.

 

Lars SENHEN, Global Commercial Strategy & Execution Director, will support you in your development in this role.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

 

 

Objectives for the role: 

  • Elevate the Global Water Commercial strategy and customer value proposition (omni-channel) grounded in shopper, occasions, channel and customer insights, and ensure seamless integration into the overall category strategy shared with the Zones, CBUs and Global Sales, partnering with the global category & commercial teams.   
  • Create a customer-facing commercial category story by key channel that clearly demonstrates the role of the category and Danone’s unique ability to drive this growth for the customer. 

 

Key deliverables: 

 

  • Design channel-specific customer facing category strategies and work with top CBUs to localize for priority channels infused with available shopper/channel insights, including compelling category growth story and that clearly demonstrates the value that Danone brings to the customer to capture growth in this category. 
  • Elevate the Water Commercial Strategy and the resulting customer facing category story by key channel (Modern Trade, AFH, Discounters, E-Comm, etc.) including the following: 
    • Occasion-Brand-Price-Pack Architecture recommendations (at a high level) that are connected to the category strategy and can enable CBUs to clarify the role of each brand, format and price point to meet targeted consumer occasions.  Work with CBUs to bring synergies and best practices across markets. 
    • Communication & activation recommendations for each stage of the shopper journey that will best enable recruitment, penetration & frequency objectives of the category strategy 
    • Overall recommendations that improve shoppability (ease of consumer understanding and choice through to purchase) for shoppers.
    • Customer-facing category story by key channel (Home and Away-from Home)
  • Development of global category commercialization plans and contribute to the commercial strategy definition of specific programs
  • Develop and own global shopper knowledge (with S&I) by delivering insights and analyzing category, shopper and channel data to generate insights that refine sales strategies, enhance category and channel performance, and strengthen customer engagement
  • Work with top CBUs to help them define what it would take to achieve category captaincy, and advise based on best practices a staged plan to achieve this objective.

The criteria listed below are indicative. Applications with a different combination of experiences and skills may also be considered.

  • Available asap
  • You hold a Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Marketing, Business Administration, Sustainability Management, Environmental Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, (Customer and Commercial with strong skills in RGM, Customer Management, Segmentation and Channel strategy) ideally within an international FMCG environment.
  • A strong Consumer, Shopper and Customer understanding incl. strong skills in RGM, Customer Management, Segmentation and Channel strategy (At Home and Away-from-Home)
  • A strong commercial acumen: solid analytical skills, ability to think from planning to execution and advanced commercial skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills as well as highly developed project management, business development and negotiation skills with experience from driving complex cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders
  • Be able to understand how to build, influence and engage your network to enhance delivery of the key deliverables
  • Agile and know how to work in a changing environment
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
