We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for a visionary leader to join our team as the Head of Category Management and Channel Development. In this 12-month FTC role, you will report directly to the Sales Director and co-lead a highly strategic agenda. Your primary objective will be to drive channel strategy and category development for a set of businesses with the ambition to achieve significant growth. You will adeptly navigate regulatory changes in the IMF (infant milk formula) sector that impact both grocery and pharmacy channels, enhance our adult portfolio, and spearhead the expansion of our dairy business.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Channel Strategy Development - Lead the ongoing development and implementation of channel strategy across ANZ for all Danone categories (excluding Medical). Collaborate with global stakeholders to leverage channel strategy insights, define 4P guidelines with the RGM team, ensure the 4Ps are effectively implemented, build strong retail partnerships, and support shopper marketing initiatives in the pharmacy channel.
  • Category Development-Lead the development of Category Visions for ANZ markets, support sales teams in deploying these visions for long-term JBPs with key retail customers and monitor category dynamics to identify opportunities or risks.
  • Business Planning- Co-lead annual business planning with S&I and Marketing, ensure consistency between brand and channel initiatives, collaborate on innovation pipeline business cases, manage syndicated and shopper data relationships, and oversee the trade marketing budget to support shopper plans.
  • Team Leadership- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of three senior managers, fostering their growth and ensuring their success.

About you

You are a visionary leader with a strong sales acumen and a proven track record in category management and channel development. Your strategic mindset and ability to navigate complex regulatory environments have consistently driven significant growth in your previous roles. You excel in collaborative settings, working seamlessly with senior leadership to achieve ambitious business objectives. Your expertise in the consumer goods sector, combined with your ability to innovate and expand product portfolios, makes you an ideal candidate for this influential role.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Category Management and/or Channel Strategy Development within the international Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.
  • Industry experience in consumer healthcare, nutrition, or infant milk formula.
  • Experience with ANZ grocery and pharmacy channels.
  • A tertiary qualification, preferably in Business or Marketing.
  • A strong analytical and commercial mindset with a solid understanding of P&L and business financials.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams at various levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in inclusive, diverse, and high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills
