At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Production Supervisor, Swing based in Eugene, OR!  

 

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

 

The Production Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates work activities and obtains resources necessary to ensure products meet all company cost, safety, quality, and quantity requirements. This position also reviews schedules, and production orders and makes decisions regarding staff, ingredients and maintenance needed to meet those schedules or orders on time and within budget. Incumbent is also responsible for training all production staff on production policies, processes, and procedures, and is responsible for operating within Danone’s Continuous Improvement Model (Dan-IWS).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

  • Provides leadership to the Line Team (frontline workers) and Line Trio (Line Leader, Process Engineer, and Maintenance Leader) through clear priorities and direction.
  • Develops Annual and 90-Day action plans for the line(s).
  • Ensures line staffing is adequate and available.
  • Drives accountability within the team and self to implement and follow Danone Integrated Work Systems (IWS) principles.
  • Provides training on key Daily Management Systems (DMS) to machine operators, including evaluation and qualification.
  • Supports supply chain loss analysis/elimination.
  • Drive cultural change by leading the organization engagement surveys results.
  • Implements and follows all safety procedures as stated in safety standards, and code of ethics.
  • Ensures all safety rules, plant rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and code of ethics are followed by employees, supervisors, customers, and visitors always.
  • Trains, coaches, and gives timely performance appraisals to employees.
  • Collaborates with Process Engineer and Maintenance Leader to develop and maintain standards.
  • Eliminates or reduces prioritized losses through process or work system changes.
  • Contributes to the Daily Direction Setting (DDS) process.
  • Own critical daily management systems.
  • Standardizes equipment and work processes and updates process control strategies and operating procedures as changes occur, within your scope of responsibility.
  • Develops self through participating in corporate and external training.
  • Invests 60-80% of time on the production floor.
  • Coaches and collaborates with the line teams, site and regional equipment or process owners related operations/process fields.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment for all employees and visitors.
  • Delivers on SQCDMN daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives through individual and team efforts.
  • Ensures adherence to safety standards and regulations (WISE) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned or requested.

 

SUPERVISOR RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Supervises union employees in the production area, ensuring product quality, food safety, safety compliance, awareness, and teamwork.
  • Trains, develops and coaches all employees on the production line.
  • Provides leadership in hiring and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Monitors and reviews the performance and timekeeping of employees. Initiates corrective disciplinary actions as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policies and Collective Bargaining Agreements.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Minimum five (5) years manufacturing experience, preferably food manufacturing, with demonstrated technical aptitude and leadership.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in food manufacturing

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in influencing and persuasion applied to conflict resolution and getting the work completed.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills associated with developing trusting relationships.
  • Demonstrated effective and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fluid, changing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, draw conclusions, and make solution-oriented recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work self-directed with little supervision.
  • Demonstrated willingness to adjust schedule to support 24/5 manufacturing operation, may include working overtime, other shifts and/or weekends as needed.
