We have an opening for a Supervisor - Plant Flow based in Bridgeton, NJ! This role is responsible for leadership for the plant product flow from inbound ingredients to finished product as well as a leader to all support teams inside the plant. He/she will be accountable for delivering the performance (SQCDMN) and maintaining a high level of standards – ie. GMP's, safety and food safety, SOP's and work instructions, direction, strategy.

Work hours: Monday – Friday:  7:00AM – 5:00PM with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. This position leads 12-hour workers who are on a 2-2-3-2 schedule, and therefore leadership during evenings, weekends, and holidays will be necessary intermittently.

The Logistics Flow Lead will be responsible for:

  • Operational performance of warehouse.
  • Deliver on SQCDMN daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals and objectives through individual and team efforts.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and development for operators through active leadership.
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in warehouses and work with counterparts, manager, and operators to drive improvements.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • You will study production and shipping schedules identify gaps and risks while collaborating with the manager and peers to balance work schedule.
  • You will lead shipping and receiving teams, truck scheduling, dock scheduling, labor assignment, and customer and intercompany shipping activities on shift.
  • You will direct plant operations for all day shift activities working with support peers from each team.
  • You will perform End of Month activities to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • You will initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals, support operators through their coaching and development.
  • You will identify and manage Q reports and holds with Quality Assurance to ensure product is released in a timely manner and other QA issues are properly resolved.
  • You will ensure all returns are properly brought into the system and code.
  • You will identify and manage warehouse space requirements and manage 3rd party inventory to ensure FIFO compliance.
  • You will develop root cause problem-solving analysis using tools to re-align operational goals and objectives.
  • You will lead and support the maintenance and continual improvement of all Company Standard programs related to Food Safety, Quality, Compliance, Employee, and other duties as assigned.
  • You will maintain KPI mtrics and other reporting tools
  • You will become a certified train-the-trainer for employee forklift certification
  • You will promote a positive team atmosphere and champion involvement of all employees.
  • You will ensure sound communication systems are in place so all employees are aware and can participate in continuous improvement of the operation; perform daily shift meetings and help facilitate Business Unit meetings as scheduled.
  • You will enforce safety regulations (WISE2) to ensure a safe working environment.

About you

Education and Experience:

 

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in warehouse/shipping management within a manufacturing environment desirable and may be substituted for education.
  • Experience with Inventory Management and Inventory Control strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and manage a plant staff.
  • The ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints and manage in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to work an 8-12 shift, which could include nights, weekends or holidays per plant needs.
