Senior Nutritional Scientist
(Utrecht, full-time, #hybrid)

The Paediatric Challenged Growth Category of the Global Early Life Nutrition team of Danone Nutricia not only makes a difference, but a difference that matters to millions of children around the world with disease related and non-disease related malnutrition.
In this role, you will translate clinical and nutritional knowledge into innovative pediatric product opportunities. You will collaborate with teams across life sciences, user experience, product technology, marketing, regulatory, and medical affairs to drive these innovations. Your responsibilities will include building rationale and securing scientific substantiation for both new product innovations and renovations. Additionally, you will participate in co-building and delivering the product and clinical evidence pipeline. A key aspect of this role is driving innovation in sustainable nutritional products that minimize environmental footprint, working with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into all aspects of product development.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop nutritional product specifications for children with growth challenges.
- Create nutritional and scientific dossiers to substantiate product composition, target population, and recommended use.
- Safeguard and develop global nutritional standards for pediatric growth nutrition products.
- Provide expert knowledge on pediatric nutritional requirements for infants and young children.
- Stay updated with clinical practice, regulatory developments, and nutritional trends.
- Participate in monitoring new product and science trends on nutrition and health topics.
- Guard and develop the pediatric growth category portfolio based on new insights.
- Participate in the claims development process and communicate opportunities related to nutritional superiority claims.
- Represent the pediatric growth category as a nutritional expert in internal and external meetings and conferences globally.
About you
- Bachelor degree or above in dietetics, nutrition, and/or health science.
- At least 5-7 years of proven practical expertise in nutrition science with knowledge of medical nutrition in pediatrics.
- Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks, nutritional standard, and nutritional needs during childhood in health and disease.
- Examples of the ability to translate clinical, nutritional, and scientific information into product compositions.
- Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty pragmatically with good time management and organizational skills
- Proven ability to interact at the scientific level with internal and external stakeholders.
- Desire to learn new skills and tackle new tasks.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English for writing product rationales, reports and delivering presentations
