Grave Shift: Monday - Friday (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM)

 

This entry level position is responsible to package products manually, performing basic quality control checks, including accurate packaging, package counts, and weight, evaluating product and package appearance. Assembles boxes, applies labels, and stacks boxes on pallets. Places product on conveying systems and supports machine operators with basic material replenishments.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
• Safely, efficiently, and accurately performs the duties and responsibilities of a Hand Packer.
• Follows the standard operating procedures.
• Fully engages in all safety, quality, and other company programs.
• Understands and can perform lockout tagout (LOTO) and other processes to assure safety for self and others on qualified machines.
• Conducts self and encourages coworkers to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with Company mission, values, and code of ethics policies and other standards of conduct.
• Performs basic quality control checks, including accurate packaging, package counts, dates, and weights, and evaluates product or package appearance.
• Complies with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Danone’s production standards that ensure products are made under industry-standard conditions.
• Prepares and packages products manually.
• Folds and tapes box, applies labels, and stacks boxes on proficiently, effectively on pallets.
• Maintains an organized and clean work area and sorts materials as directed by leadership and operators.
• Moves pallets using an electric pallet jack safely to finished goods storage.
• Loads product and materials on the lines to support machine operators.
• Tracks production efficiencies using various methods.
• Conducts basic troubleshooting and escalates problems to leadership in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

 

 

About you

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE – REQUIRED:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer skills (keyboarding, email, data entry).

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE – PREFERRED:
• Minimum 6 months of successful work experience that involves accuracy, dependability, and teamwork, ideally in a food production environment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Maintains a safe working environment, functioning as a member of a cooperative team and safely performs job duties.
• Reads, writes, speaks, interprets, and understands English written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Apply basic mathematical skills such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity, packing product into multi-packs at the rate of 140-180 pieces per minute.
• Demonstrated high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a sense of urgency in varying temperature environments.
• Demonstrated ability to use push/pull cart, electric pallet jack, taper, shrink wrap.
• Must be able to obtain company certification in the safe and proper use of an electric pallet jack.
• Ability to adjust schedule to support 24/7 manufacturing, may include working hours outside of a typical shift, including weekends as needed.
