Within Danone, Specialized Nutrition covers Early Life Nutrition and Medical Nutrition, two highly regulated and sensitive businesses at the intersection of health, nutrition, public policy and stakeholder expectations. Public Affairs plays a key role in anticipating policy developments, supporting responsible institutional engagement, and helping protect both business continuity and Danone’s reputation. 

This internship will offer exposure to strategic public affairs priorities for Specialized Nutrition, including evolving policy expectations on infant and young child nutrition, responsible marketing and communication, health systems, food safety, and the growing recognition of medical nutrition as part of care pathways, notably in cancer and other therapeutic areas. 

YOUR MISSIONS AT DANONE: 

This internship will take place in Paris, at our headquarters, starting from January 2027. Matteo Maestracci, Categories & Public Policy Director, in the Global Public Affairs team, will guide you through your day-to-day tasks and help you grow in your role: 

  • Monitor global, European and national policy developments related to Specialized Nutrition. 
  • Prepare concise summaries, internal briefings and policy updates highlighting potential risks, opportunities and implications for Danone and the Specialized Nutrition category. 
  • Support the preparation of advocacy materials, including policy briefs, talking points, Q&As, background notes and stakeholder meeting briefings. 
  • Contribute to stakeholder mapping and engagement preparation with public institutions, international organizations, professional associations, patient organizations, academic experts and policy platforms. 
  • Help coordinate internal Public Affairs workstreams across Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Communications and business teams, including agendas, minutes, action trackers, dashboards and document repositories.

About you

For this position, we are looking for someone: 

  • Available from January 2027 for a duration of 6 months 
  • At the level of Bac+4/5 in university, business school, political science, public affairs, European affairs, international relations, public health, law, or a related field 
  • Interested in health policy, nutrition, food regulation, healthcare systems, international institutions and responsible business practices 
  • Organized, rigorous, curious and autonomous, with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive topics with discretion 
  • Able to synthesize complex policy, scientific or regulatory information into clear, structured and actionable messages 
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural and cross-functional environment with Public Affairs, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, Communications and business teams 
  • Fluent in English and French, with excellent written communication skills and good command of PowerPoint, Word and Excel
