We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for a passionate and skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our high-performing Quality and Food Safety team located in Auckland. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in ensuring our products consistently meet regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements, particularly within a highly controlled infant nutrition environment.

You will lead and develop a team of Quality Assurance Coordinators, drive strong food safety & quality culture on the floor, and ensure robust application of HACCP, PRPs, GMP and quality systems across manufacturing lines in can filling and can forming, and warehousing operations.

You will be driving Danone's Quality and Food Safety vision, ensuring our standards remain uncompromising and our culture stays robust. You will:

  • Lead, coach, and inspire a skilled QA team to drive day‑to‑day quality and food safety operations, ensuring compliance with PRPs, HACCP and ISO 22000 requirements
  • Build an engaged, capable team with strong accountability, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • Lead by example, modelling quality, food safety, safety and continuous improvement expectations at all times.
  • Support the site HACCP programme, including change control, and risk assessments
  • Ensure all products manufactured on site meet regulatory, technical and customer standards
  • Lead and coach the QA and operational teams to drive identification, investigation and closure of non‑conformances, including RCA and corrective/preventive actions
  • Lead internal GMP/GHP audits and support external audits (e.g. RMP, FSSC 22000, China SAMR, Halal, Organic)
  • Manage key quality programmes including environmental monitoring, pest control, calibration and rework
  • Develop, review and maintain standard operating procedures and quality documentation
  • Act as a key quality partner to Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams, promoting a strong quality mindset and continuous improvement culture across the site.
  • Help create a safe workplace by supporting the WISE Health & Safety programme

To be successful, you will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Food Science/ Chemistry / Microbiology or similar
  • Proven QA experience in Infant Formula/Dairy/Food or other FMCG manufacturing
  • Good Understanding of HACCP, ISO 22000 standards, GHP & GMP requirements is desired
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence challenging the status quo to improve outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach, train, and influence others
  • Proven team management and critical thinking experience 
  • Excellent organization skills with an ability to work with shifting priorities 
  • High personal integrity and a clear commitment to doing the right thing
  • Advanced computer skills, SAP experience would be an advantage
