 CONTEXT

Global Engineering aims at providing business with expertise in designing solutions to sustainably grow, improve profitability and maintain license to operate on all Danone categories (Dairy, Waters, Specialized Nutrition, Plant Based) and geographies.

The Global Engineering team is recruiting a Senior Process engineer with specific qualifications Powder technologies for Specialized Nutrition & Ingredients technologies.

This position is based in Amsterdam (Paris can be an alternative).

 

MISSION

Reporting to Global Engineering Process Solution Director, the Senior Process Engineer Powder Technologies ensures technical excellence and competitiveness of Danone Global Engineering Powerhouse of Design. She/he owns the technical expertise and strategic roadmap of Powder technologies to support engineering and manufacturing networks in that journey and is accountable of the development of tools, methods and standards in that field.

Your main accountability will be:

  • As senior SME, you develop and own core designs of technical solutions at stake for Powder applications in Danone (Specialized Nutrition and Dairy ingredients):
    • In seamless collaboration with R&I and QFS departments, you scout and qualify relevant technologies for Powder manufacturing strategy in Danone (scope: Mixing, High Heat Treatment, Evaporation, Spray Drying, Blending)
    • You define, deliver and maintain engineering blue books, core designs and standards related to this scope in compliance with Danone Operation critical KPIs for Safety, Quality, Danone Impact Journey and Efficiency.
    • In partnership with C&P Capex team, you qualify relevant equipment and suppliers to maintain a fit for purpose vendor list in the domain.
  • You act as technical authority in FEED of Capex projects led by Global Engineering by contributing to the process design work package, sizing budget estimates and validating recommended technical solution ahead of investment and up to design qualification.
  • As key member of Center of Excellence Powder, you support our manufacturing network by:
    • Leading or co-leading programs aiming at improving performance, energy & water consumption, quality & safety and efficiency of our supply points (Refuel, ATEX, Battle against Waste)
    • Providing technical assistance for factory assessment or trouble shooting when needed.
    • Training & coaching technical community in the domain.

About you

 ABOUT YOU :

Education: Mechanical or Chemical engineering for Food Science Industries

Experience: 

  • Minimum 10 years in similar categories area as technologist, with shopfloor experience of process engineering projects
  • Knowledge-able on: Process & Product Technology, Powder properties in relation to process conditions, Hygienic design, Pinch & Enthalpy analyses, Explosion Safety according to ATEX
  • Ability to Translate Process Design into Process descriptions and preferably to have Startup and Commissioning experience as well as troubleshooting
  • Understand and advocate LOTO & WISE2 principles
  • Experience in leading transversal programs with factories is a plus.
  • You are proficient in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and have knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project. 
  • Fluent in English
