About the Job

As Materials Controller, you are a key financial business partner for all categories Materials costs in the Benelux selling unit (no factories within scope) and you report to the Head of Benelux Operations Controlling.

You will be the primary contact person with regards to understanding the materials costs and drivers of variances, and a detailed oriented work is key to deal with high volume of data. You are first point of contact for actuals analysis, forecast build-up & understanding, business cases and other ad-hoc task such as master data management and bringing insights on evolution of materials costs by connecting with EU FP&A and factories during AOP process and other times.

Concretely, you will bring value by…

• Supporting materials costs control and analysis, you drive clear understanding of the drivers and process improvements in animation and control for both closing and forecast cycles for a category and SKU level also assisting with innovation & renovation business cases, factory and FP&A connections, stock management via price cheks and stock reval, ad-hoc analysis…
• Supporting forecasting process, both short-term and mid-term, together with Head of Operations Controlling, Demand & Supply Planning and FP&A: monthly cost forecast review, analysis & presentations, R&O management. You work with a cross-functional mindset, a strict respect of deadlines and high standard of quality.
• Being responsible for Master data accuracy of the material prices received from factories by performing checks in the various systems.
• Having the responsibility of local materials costs such packaging and excise taxes, 3^rd party manufacturing costs and co-packing costs including the annual tax declarations
• Increasing financial awareness in the broader organization including sales / marketing teams and Operations teams and lead various Best Practice exercises to implement agile WoW, ensure quality & availability of data and business information, improve accuracy and consistency of figures.

If you are our ideal candidate, you have a Master Degree in Business Economics or a Business School. You have a proven background in Operations Finance (at least 2-3 year experience), mainly in Controlling, Consultancy or a similar function within FMCG or Food. You are fluent in English.

• Have experience in business partnering with operations  teams.
• Have an analytical mindset and are a true problem solver.
• Be fluent in systems management and data analysis/management. 
• Have strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization.
• Be business oriented, stress resilient, proactive and a constructive business partner / team member.
• Enjoy working in cross-functional teams and to lead transformation.
• Have passion for excellence and able to manage priorities.
• Be at ease with Office software (mainly Excel and PowerPoint), knowledge of SAP, Essbase and Power BI.
