Job Summary

At Danone, Manufacturing the best products and supplying them to meet demand is a key driver for our plant teams.   We are currently looking to hire a Training Manager based in West Jordan, Utah! 

 

In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site's training and capability-building programs. You will partner with Operations, Quality, Safety, Maintenance, and Human Resources to ensure employees possess the knowledge, skills, and certifications necessary to perform safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in driving our mission forward. The following responsibilities outline the core expectations and contributions for this position:

  • Develop and execute the site training strategy to support operational excellence, employee development, and business objectives.
  • Lead onboarding and orientation programs for new hires, ensuring timely completion of required training and qualification activities.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify skill gaps and create development plans that strengthen workforce capabilities.
  • Manage training matrices, qualification records, and compliance documentation to meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training tracking processes.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Food Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, and Operations teams to ensure compliance training requirements are met.
  • Develop and facilitate leadership, technical, and functional training programs across plant functions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the site’s training facilities
  • Monitor training effectiveness through assessments, employee feedback, performance metrics, and operational results.
  • Coach and support frontline leaders in delivering standardized work instructions and on-the-job training.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on building organizational capability and promoting a learning culture.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility, training rooms, warehouse areas, and production environments.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while conducting observations, audits, and training sessions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and transport training materials and equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods. 

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments with exposure to moderate noise and temperature variations.
  • Frequent interaction with production employees, supervisors, managers, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Work schedules could include nights, weekends and/or holidays to provide support for a 24/7 manufacturing environment as business needs dictate.

Engagement in our Integrated Work Systems

Ensure adherence to plant standards and procedures (including but not limited to GMP, AIB, FDA, IWS, Quality, Safety, Finance, ISO, HOPE, Danone Behaviors, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE). As a fundamental piece of the organization, your responsibility is to participate and own the implementation and deployment of IWS system and its pillars (Leadership foundation, Daily Direction Setting, Driving OE; Autonomous Maintenance; planned Maintenance; Focused Improvement; Education and Training; Environmental, Health and Safety; Quality; Organization; Supply Network; Early Equipment Management) with the objective of owning your space, owning your performance (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Mobilization, Nature) and owning your continuous improvement.

About You:

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and skills that enable them to excel in this position. The following qualifications outline what we’re looking for, including both required and preferred criteria:

 

Education & Experience:

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in training, learning and development, talent development, or manufacturing operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing training programs, teams, or workforce development initiatives.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, food production, consumer packaged goods, or other highly regulated environments.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in organizational development, Human Resources, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications such as ATD, CPTD, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent.
  • Experience implementing Learning Management Systems and competency-based training programs.
  • Experience with Integrated Work Systems (IWS), TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Operational Excellence methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and training program design.
  • Ability to facilitate training programs and effectively engage diverse employee populations.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities with the ability to measure training effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of GMP, food safety, quality systems, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Learning Management Systems, and training technologies.
  • Ability to build partnerships and collaborate across functions to drive capability development and business results.
  • Ability to adjust schedule to support 24/7 Manufacturing Operation, may include working overtime, graveyard shift and/or weekends as needed.
