Macroom Supply Point is a strategic spray drying factory within the division, being a major supplier of infant formula to other plants within the network.  

Due to expansion and internal progression, Danone Macroom are now recruiting for a process engineer. 

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Process Engineer will support the delivery of process optimization, continuous improvement, and capital project initiatives in Danone's specialized infant nutrition manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for Capital Project delivery, process & facilities troubleshooting, P&ID standardization and advancements, stakeholder coordination, and the implementation of engineering solutions to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and operational performance. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Production, and external vendors, the Process Engineer will lead and support projects from concept through commissioning and validation while ensuring compliance with GMP, food safety, regulatory and Danone Engineering Standards. The successful candidate will bring a minimum 3–6 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, strong project management capability, and a proactive approach to value engineering, process improvement, and technical problem solving.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3-6+ years of engineering experience in food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, or nutrition manufacturing.
• Proven track record in CAPEX and equipment installations from concept through implementation and validation.
• Process optimization and process performance improvement.
• Experience engaging OEMs, partners, and cross‑functional teams.
• Proven expertise in contractor and OEM safe working standards.

Technical:

• Experience with commissioning and qualification (FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ).
• Ability to interpret engineering documents (P&IDs, PFDs, layouts, technical specs).
• Proficient in RFQ (Request for Quotation) documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with project management principles and CAPEX processes.
• Understanding of automation and process control (PLC/SCADA).
• Well-acquainted with CIP systems and hygienic process design.
• Ability to lead technical discussions with suppliers.
