Are you excited about working on an innovative project and conducting research in a laboratory setting? Are you passionate about food science and the process of fermentation? Then apply now and join us as our new Fermentation Innovation Intern in our Utrecht office starting in March 2025!

 

In this internship, you will be part of the Ferments & Fermentation Team within our Research and Innovation (R&I) department. Our purpose is to develop new processes related to yoghurt production. During this internship, you will collaborate with other teams within the specialized nutrition department and provide support on an innovative project.

 

Your main responsibilities include:

 

  • Performing yogurt fermentation trials
  • Working in a lab and conducting lab analysis
  • Gathering, interpreting, and communicating data
  • Conducting scientific research on yoghurt fermentation literature

About you

  • You are a Bachelor/Master student currently pursuing a degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, Agriculture or a related field
  • Have strong interest about food science
  • You feel comfortable working in a laboratory
  • Skilled in handling data
  • Proficient in excel
  • Excellent communication skills

As a Fermentation Innovation Intern working in a lab will be second nature to you. You feel comfortable working with data and have a passion for fermentation and related processes. On top of that? You’re a scientific thinker who’s always looking for opportunities to learn and develop.

 

There are also some compulsory requirements:

  • Enrolled as a Bachelors/Masters student during the whole internship period (if you are a non-EU citizen, you need to be enrolled at a Dutch university);
  • Ideally available to start in March 2025 for a minimum of 6 months, 5 days per week;
  • You are fluent in English - spoken and written
  • You are able to work from our Utrecht office, at least 4-5 days per week;
  • Vaccination against Hepatitis B and Tetanus are considered a plus as they are needed to work in the laboratory
  • Please note that you are required to relocate to the Netherlands (if abroad) for this internship and get a BSN.

We Offer

 

We offer a gross monthly internship allowance 650 euros per month and a home working allowance/contribution towards travel. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad.

 

* Please be aware that you must acquire a BSN number to receive the full internship allowance.
