This is an opportunity to gain hands-on laboratory experience while supporting the development of future nutritional solutions that can positively impact people's lives.

 

As a Metabolic Health Research Intern, you will join our Metabolic Health team within Danone Research & Innovation. The team explores the biological mechanisms that influence metabolic health and translates scientific insights into nutrition-based innovations.

 

During this internship, you will contribute to a research project focused on developing and optimising cellular models used to study metabolic health. Working alongside experienced scientists, you will help generate insights that support ongoing research programmes while building your expertise in cell biology and laboratory research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct cell culture experiments to support metabolic health research projects.
  • Investigate scientific literature and translate findings into experimental approaches.
  • Measure, analyse and interpret cellular responses linked to metabolism and health outcomes.
  • Support the development and optimisation of laboratory methods, assays and scientific readouts.
  • Present results, conclusions and recommendations to scientists and project teams.

Sobre ti

You are a curious and motivated Master's student who enjoys scientific problem-solving and hands-on laboratory work. You are eager to learn, collaborate with experts and contribute to research that can help shape future nutrition and health innovations.

 

You bring:

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Nutrition & Health, or a related field​
  • Interest in cell biology, metabolism, or human health​
  • Experience with cell culture is a plus​
  • Strong analytical thinking and interest in scientific research​
  • Good organisational and communication skills​
  • A pro-active and hands-on mindset​

Compulsory requirements:

  • Enrolled as a Master’s student during the whole internship period​
  • Available to start in September/October 2026 for at least 6 months (5 days/week)​
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills​
  • Able to work on-site in Utrecht, 4-5 days per week​
  • Based in the Netherlands with a valid BSN (or valid residence permit if non-EU)
