Danone is looking for a Water Resources Manager based in Evian-les-Bains, France.

This position is based in Evian (France, 74) and will require some weeks of traveling worldwide during the year. The position is part of Watershed Sciences & Stewardship team which supports Danone business units’ growth providing expertise and technical innovation through excellence programs. You will join a team of water specialists in hydrogeology, water processing, water stewardship and report to the Water Resources director.

In this position, you play a major role in the improvement of resilient water resources management strategies where Danone is operating [e.g. Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa]. You undertake various activities such as:  consolidating water resources and watershed monitoring data, analysing of climatic and hydric conditions and trends, running models of various types (including machine leaning and AI) to better predict water resources condition evolution from short term (2 weeks) to long term.

Main missions

• Drive the “Digital water resources” roadmap aiming at gathering relevant monitoring data (boreholes, meteo, watershed) in one platform
• Define and follow-up data vizualisation, analysis and KPI for an efficient data-driven decision-making
• Conduct hydrogeological and hydroclimatological assessments aiming at better understanding recharge patterns
• Analyse and compute meteo and climate scenarios data to better predict recharge conditions and aquifer behaviour at different time horizons, issue risk analysis.
• Connect with external partners (universities, startups, consulting firms … )
• Develop and implement prediction models based on classical methods (grid, lumped models) and innovative methods (machine learning, AI)
• Be part of the WaCE [Water Community of Experts], as an active contributor to building training and capacities on your fields of expertise.
• Be specifically in charge of supporting Asia region on water capacity plans, water resources exploration, boreholes management.
• Contribute to the main programs of the team : SPRING2030, 4R, watershed preservation action plans

• With minimum a Master's degree in a related field, preferably in hydrogeology, hydro sciences, environmental or climate science, you have 10 years of experience of work in the private and/or public sector and being able to demonstrate understanding of private sector approaches to managing natural resources.
• You show good understanding and knowledge in water resources management, hydrogeology, hydroclimatology, climate change and inherent impact on water quantity and quality.
• You definitely show a great interest in computer science (statistics, modelling, machine learning, AI) and are familiar with related tools like Python, R, Qgis, …
• Your interpersonal skills allow you to interact in a multi-cultural environment and you demonstrate good communication skill in both verbal and written in English, to be able to perform regular communication with your colleagues/partners located worldwide. Skills in French/Spanish would be a “plus”.
• You have the ability to travel up to 30% of your time nationally and internationally, sometimes 2 weeks per trip (usually one) and have no restriction to get a working permit in France.
