Hoofddorp/Hybrid

As a European Senior Buyer Cups you will play a key role in supporting Danone’s ambitious strategy. Your responsibilities will cover various areas of the packaging category, including fueling the Packaging Team pipeline, innovation, productivity, sustainability, and managing day-to-day operations. You will manage the EU supply base (~110M EUR spend) and execute Global and Regional Strategies. Key focuses include co-building and executing these strategies, managing transformational projects, contributing to lightweight and cost-takeout opportunities, supporting the Danone Impact Journey, and driving business growth through innovation. Elevating our regional SRM programs will also be a priority.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Sourcing & Strategy

  • Development of the strategy and management of your category on a day-to-day basis.
  • Understanding, challenging and anticipating key business needs by analyzing market trends, propose, validate & implement 3-year EU Cups strategy, from upstream materials (resin) to conversion supplier (including assessment, development of supplier and negotiation of conditions)
  • Identification and leverage of supplier capabilities and capacities in long-term development processes, bringing major competitive advantages
  • Identify and lead or support bottom line (tender, negotiation, …) and top-line (innovation, sustainability and portfolio transformation) projects
  • Acting as an ambassador of the packaging policy, supporting the business to achieve the corresponding sustainability targets (e.g. Sustainable Sourcing Policy & SBTi).

Business security

  • Ensure business continuity and build strong and actionable Business Continuity Plans (BCP)

Budget and estimates, risks management

  • Monitor the financials (Budget/Rolling Forecasts, estimated spend needs, opportunity & risks)

Methods and tools

  • Develop category excellence and challenge the status-quo: identify inside and outside best practices, assess interest, develop them in Danone
  • Define and implement an internal communication strategy about category strategy and achievements with all relevant stakeholders
  • Continuously update and improve category tools (ex.: supplier database, BCP tools, spend management…)

You will be part of the Cycles & Procurement team for Europe based in Hoofddorp. Specifically, the focus will be on the European Essential Dairy & Plant Based (EDPB) divisions. You will be part of the Primary Packaging Team, reporting to Guillermo Tapia, EU Cups and Bottles Manager.

A propos de vous

To succeed in this role, you need a 'can-do' attitude, analytical skills, and the ability to propose new ideas and drive change with excellence. Strong relationship-building capabilities are essential for interacting with key suppliers and internal stakeholders across Europe. You must have solid communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, excellent stakeholder management, and high discipline. Proficiency in Excel for building and implementing models is required. Additionally, you should be comfortable in a dynamic environment, resilient, self-driven, and a team player who values collective intelligence.

Furthermore, you have

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in Procurement, and previous experience in packaging categories is essential.
  • Proven leadership capabilities.
  • Outstanding education level (capacity of analysis, synthesis, command of languages, basics about marketing, company strategy, finance).
  • Ample business acumen/finance knowledge with preference to model strong business cases.
  • “Hands on” mentality, with strategic approach (helicopter view) with ability to zoom-in.
  • Experience in complex matrix organizations.
