This role is part of our Specialized Nutrition factory located in Zoetermeer and reports into the Project & Engineering department. In this factory (with over 500 Danoners) we produce specialized liquid medical nutrition contributing to the well-being of vulnerable target groups (infants, elderly and sick) in over 55 countries.

The Project Lead is responsible for the management of technical projects from concept phase through to commissioning and closure. You coordinate all project stakeholders ensuring project execution on time and within budget, with full compliance to all quality, safety and operational requirements.

Your main responsibilities

From this pivotal position within Nutricia’s Supply Point in Zoetermeer you will be responsible for:

• Understanding the project needs and translating them into clear user requirements.
• Scoping and developing technical proposals to meet these requirements with a cross functional team.
• Leading internal project teams consisting of members from e.g. Industrial Automation, Production, Quality, Safety and Maintenance.
• Together with Procurement writing and reviewing Request For Quotations, assesses supplier proposals and make recommendations for enhancements.
• Participating in requisition and management of capital authorization requests.
• Building the plan for project execution and ramp up, ensuring smooth and safe implementation within an active factory environment.
• Effective execution of the plan- coordinating suppliers and the internal Project team, ensuring that the project deliveries on time, meeting the expectations set in the according to the agreed User Requirements.
• Risk management throughout the project, ensuring there are effective mitigations in place which are communicated with Stakeholders.
• Project cost control and cash out forecasting, providing regular input to finance.
• Ensuring Nutricia (Danone) Standards are implemented in design and execution.
• Accountable for project security and safety with full implementation of safety policies in all project activities.

We are looking for a highly organized individual with proven work experience in the Food Industry. If you are a team player and not afraid to use you’re creative skills to come to the optimum solution, then this could be a role for you. 

You have a structural way of working, making sure that agreed project objectives are being met. Your empathic personality helps you to be the linking pin in the organization and manage the stakeholders around your project(s).

In addition, you fit this role well if you are/have:

• Completed education in Engineering, Food Technology, Food Science or related field
• Proven work experience in Food or Pharmaceutical as a Project Engineer or other relevant role;
• Experience working in and on large CAPEX projects, preferably within a liquid food processing environment;
• Experience in (Technical) Project Management, Manufacturing, leading project teams in a challenging and changing environment;
• Technical knowledge of (Aseptic) Liquid Processing lines and/or Packaging lines;
• Experienced in setting up contractual documentation (Technical specifications, Schedule, Equipment performance, Commissioning protocol);
• Installation & commissioning experience of (Aseptic) Liquid Processing lines.

Important skills for this role as Project Lead are: 

• Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMP / Sherpa) and digital PM tools, such as Asana.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and optimize processes.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information and project updates.
• Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all aspects of the project.
