Are you an experienced Electrical Bias Engineer looking to work with advanced manufacturing technology in a fast-paced and highly automated environment?
Alpro is seeking a skilled Electrical Bias Shift Engineer to join our Maintenance & Engineering team at our Kettering manufacturing site. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining and improving world-class production equipment while supporting the manufacture of market-leading plant-based food and drink products.
Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, maximising production performance, and driving continuous improvement across the site.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Responding to equipment breakdowns and restoring production quickly and safely.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
- Fault finding on PLC-controlled equipment, drives, motors, sensors, instrumentation, and automated production lines.
- Supporting continuous improvement projects and root cause analysis activities.
- Assisting with equipment modifications and installation projects
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and work orders through SAP.
- Promoting and maintaining high standards of safety, food safety, housekeeping, and engineering excellence.
- Supporting the optimisation of automation and control systems across the site.
About you
What We're Looking For:
- Time-served and qualified maintenance engineer.
- NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Strong electrical fault-finding experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of industrial control systems, motors, drives, sensors, and electrical distribution systems.
- Experience working on PLC-controlled production equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Good IT literacy, including experience using maintenance management systems.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
Desirable:
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Experience within Food Manufacturing, FMCG, Beverage, Packaging, or Process Industries.
- Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, or similar PLC platforms.
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
- SAP maintenance system experience.
- .Multi-skilled engineering capability.
Your Shift Pattern:
This role operates on a Panama Shift Pattern, providing engineering support across our 24/7 manufacturing operation.
