The Line Shift Leader (LSL) is a key function to develop the Line Centric Organisation (LCO) including coordinating the team, coaching and developing capabilities (conduct, maintain and improve) of the Equipment Owner (EO) on their team.
They will have the overall responsibility for the key results and standard work systems on their shift. The LSL is key to reach the right level of capabilities of the EO to reach the self-sufficiency in the LCO. The LSL role enables the IWS line trio to be at the right level of focus on mid-term activities and by cascade to elevate the Operations Department Manager (ODM) role to a more strategic and transversal role.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who possesses and displays strong Leadership in their day-to-day activities, acting as a role model and being a servant leader. Communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as is a continuous improvement mindset. The main focus of this role is to build capabilities within your team, so being an effective coach and trainer are essential to the success of your team and the line/process performance. The ideal candidate will strive to always do the right thing, 100% of the time, even when nobody is watching.
