Mirai Project Engineering Manager

About the job

This role is required to lead Mirai capacity expansion project and ensure overall delivery.

• Lead project Engineering team from different sub-streams and accountable for overall design/ delivery right first time at schedule & target cost & accountable for technical part of project VSU.

• Drive project schedule adherence by defining key gates & corresponding criteria are checked/ met as project progresses

• Closely collaborate with cross functional team to ensure EHS/ QFS/ Operational standards are respected via detailed FMEA/ Design reviews, drive closure of safety in design gaps in terms of design/ fabrication & installation

• Monitor project technical risks & ensure risks are identified/ escalated in time, organizing team for mitigation action plans.

• Govern Engineering communication, Risk management and Changes control

• Ensures successful coordination with site activities and site Masterplan projects. And establish the handover plan to users after project completion. Ensure the successful site acceptance and VSU.

• Establish the execution strategy and resource management.

• Prepares and issue project status & performance information on a regular basis. Obtains input and approvals as required.

• Continuously drive the best practices and prompt safety cultures.

 

1. Experiences of working in big capex project as Engineering manager and big organizations

2. Good project management skills

3. Strong business knowledge and cross-functional team management

4. Good knowledge in budgeting and capex, safety management, and compliance

5. Good understanding and experience of Japan and local cultures

 

• Design Oversight: Lead and validate equipment and process design for major sub streams, including:

• Yogurt Processing Systems

• Packaging Lines

• Automated Warehouse Design

• Programming and Automation Systems

• Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs meet accuracy standards and are “right the first time,” minimizing rework and delays.

• Project Execution: Monitor engineering deliverables, manage timelines, and guarantee seamless vertical start-up of all systems.

• Collaboration: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors to align technical solutions with project objectives.

• Compliance: Uphold safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout design and implementation phases.

 

Communication & collaboration

• Closely collaborate with Safety in design, EHS/ QFS/Operations, R&I team to ensure 1 team 1 goal, towards VSU at right cost & target time

About you

● Education and Experience

Minimum bachelor’s degree, minimum 10 years of working experience.  With strong project management experience and team management experience.

 

● Specific Knowledge

Knowledge and experience in FMGC Engineering, ideally food industry Working experience in big multinational companies. Cross cultures experience.

 

● General skills

Good spoken & written in English (fluent), Japanese is a plus. Good skill in Projects management/ AutoCAD software. Good communication skills, influencing skills, and high integrity.
