The Danone Global Research & Innovation Centre in Gif‑sur‑Yvette (Paris‑Saclay) is looking for a R&I Data Engineer (M/F) for a permanent position.

Within the centre, the Advanced Technology (AT) Team plays a key role in developing breakthrough technologies that create value for people and the planet. The team focuses on new ingredients, innovative processes and next‑generation packaging solutions to enhance product superiority and support Danone’s sustainability ambitions.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Data Workflow Design & Integration: Work closely with ASlab and Sitex team to design, integrate and optimize end-to-end data workflows, ensuring consistent data capture, transfer and consolidation of data originating from laboratory instruments and pilot plants.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Contribute to the design and implementation of data governance frameworks, covering data quality standards, validation rules, process compliance, as well as reporting standards; Promote best practices for data traceability, reproducibility and documentation
  • Data Products & Analytics Enablement: Support AT teams in structuring, managing and documenting datasets according to best data management practices; Design and manage Business Intelligence and analytical products such as dashboards and analytical tools to support scientific decision making
  • Data Platform & Technology Adoption: Act as technical reference of the team for the adoption and usage of capabilities provided by the enterprise data platform. Guide teams in selecting and applying the best technologies available when building data solutions, ensuring the solutions remain scalable, maintainable, and aligned with enterprise standards

About you

The criteria below remain indicative. A candidate who has a different combination of experience and skills could also be considered.  

 

Hard Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in data structuring, data modelling and data management principles
  • Solid working knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Experience working with Azure, Databricks is a strong plus
  • Ability to design and deliver data visualization and analytics solutions, such as PowerBI report or lightweight analytical applications (e.g. Streamlit)

Profile:

  • Master's degree or engineering background in Data Management, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • 2-5 years of industrial experience with a proven track record in data engineering, data management or data product roles
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, documentation, traceability and standardization
  • English as the working language, with French and Spanish as a bonus.
  • Curiosity, autonomy and strong problem-solving skills, motivated by transforming scientific operations through data
