We have a fantastic new opportunity for the Engineering Project Lead to be part of our talented and dynamic CAPEX project team based in Auckland. As a key member of the team, you will manage and support the implementation of capital and operational performance strategies and projects across the Auckland site.

 

Reporting to the Capex and Engineering Manager, you will address and manage all aspects and responsibilities of projects from conception through to implementation while ensuring delivery of superior performance and achieving full compliance with all quality, safety, and operational requirements.

 

You will:

  • Manage end‑to‑end delivery of Engineering CAPEX projects, from front‑end scoping through to commissioning and handover to Operations
  • Champion and be accountable for implementing Danone’s Project Management tools (SHERPA) and SCRUM (AGILE) methodologies to improve engineering activity efficiency
  • Ensures projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within approved budgets through strong cost, schedule, risk, and contract management.
  • Understand business and project needs, translate them into accurate and detailed project scopes and descriptions, and ensure successful technical solutions
  • Manage contractors, suppliers, and engineering consultants
  • Ensure robust governance, cost control, and change management
  • Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, and acceptance activities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, track, and contribute to different project phases
  • Ensure compliance and risk management of Capital and Operational Performance works
  • Identify & propose technical solutions, innovations, and improvements to increase manufacturing efficiency and quality of products

About you

You are an energetic, proactive, confident, and experienced Engineering Project Management professional with a proven track record in implementing engineering and manufacturing projects. Your prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, stakeholder engagement, strong influencing skills, collaborative working style, excellent project management skills, and efficient verbal and written communication will see you succeed in the role. Above all, you enjoy taking ownership & responsibility and know how to act with speed, agility & pragmatism.

 

To be successful, you will also have:

  • An Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation or similar
  • Strong Engineering Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in capital projects, ideally in delivering engineering solutions and systems
  • Excellent stakeholder, contractor and supplier management skills
  • Sound commercial and risk management capability
  • Prior experience in Infant Formula/Dairy/Food/Hygiene or other FMCG manufacturing is desired
  • Strong engineering technical & problem-solving skills
  • Good IT skills with competence in the MS Office Suite are desired
  • Excellent organization skills with an ability to work with shifting priorities
