Join Our Team! We have an exciting new opportunity for a Quality and Food Safety Manager to join our innovative and energetic team in Auckland. As a pivotal leader, you will drive Danone's Quality and Food Safety vision, focusing on continuous improvement and fostering a consumer-centric mindset. Your contributions will be key in shaping both our immediate and long-term strategies.

Reporting directly to the Quality and Food Safety Director ANZ, you will play an integral role in shaping the quality and food safety strategies at our Auckland site. You will spearhead QFS audits and collaborate closely with external authorities to ensure Danone's compliance with all relevant regulations, driving our commitment to excellence.

You will:

  • Design and implement cutting-edge QFS strategies to elevate our quality systems.
  • Inspire Growth: Motivate and coach your team to develop technical competencies that drive exceptional business results.
  • Lead with Insight: Manage operational impacts, including Capex, budget, and innovative improvement projects.
  • Foster Innovation: Cultivate an agile mindset within the team, emphasizing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure Standards: Maintain high GMP and other essential standards on-site with effective gap analysis and robust corrective actions.
  • Mitigate Risks: Effectively manage QFS risks and contribute to the change management process.
  • Resolve Issues: Handle customer complaints and non-conformity investigations efficiently and effectively.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work seamlessly with cross-functional local and global teams and stakeholders on various impactful QFS projects.

About you

We seek a dynamic energetic professional exemplifying strong leadership ability and possessing extensive experience in quality management. You have a proven track record in stakeholder management, project management, effective team leadership and experience working with regulatory authorities. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in implementing and improving quality and food safety systems. They must excel in cross-functional collaboration and exhibit a natural aptitude for building and maintaining productive relationships, which are essential for success in this role.

 

To be successful, you should also ideally have:

 

  • A tertiary qualification in Chemistry/Microbiology/Food Science or similar
  • Proven management experience in Infant Formula/Dairy/Food or other FMCG manufacturing
  • Good understanding of HACCP, FSSC22000, GHP & GMP systems and requirements
  • Sound IT skills (statistical process control and problem-solving expertise desirable)
  • Good understanding of the requirements and practical application of NZ Dairy and Infant Formula related Regulations and Standards (including MPI, FSANZ, China GB standards)
  • Prior experience in food handling and pathogen management
  • Lean manufacturing techniques, IWS, and Six Sigma experience would be a plus
