Are you ready for an amazing opportunity? We’re thrilled to announce an opening for a QA In-Process Manager at our vibrant Quality and Food Safety team in Balclutha. This role lets you play a key part in achieving Danone’s Quality and Food Safety goals, all while meeting New Zealand’s high standards. You'll help build a strong QA culture and promote a consumer-focused approach.

Reporting directly to the Quality and Food Safety Manager, you will lead the charge in ensuring an effective Quality Management System within the plant. You will champion quality and food safety standards, adhering to all regulatory requirements and ISO-22000 standards, and disseminating relevant updates throughout the plant.

  • Ensure a zero-harm workplace through WISE Health & Safety program participation.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach a skilled and agile team of QA In-Process Coordinators.
  • Support and lead the site HACCP program for effective hazard control.
  • Develop and implement the QMS on the shop floor.
  • Guide staff in following standard procedures for testing, sampling, and hygiene checks.
  • Manage environmental monitoring, pest control programs, and conduct internal audits.
  • Conduct thorough and timely non-conformance investigations focused on prevention.
  • Support external and internal system audits and change management processes.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory, corporate, and ISO 22000 Quality & Food Safety Standards.
  • Ensure HACCP adherence to all regulatory, corporate, and Quality & Food Safety standards, and disseminate any relevant updates.
  • Lead and promote a food safety culture and quality awareness.

About you

We seek an enthusiastic, proactive, and confident Quality professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for process excellence. Your extensive experience in quality assurance and food safety within a manufacturing environment, combined with exceptional stakeholder management skills, will be vital to your success. You excel at inspiring and motivating teams, fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture. Most importantly, you take ownership of your responsibilities, acting with speed, agility, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Proven QA & food safety experience in the Infant Formula/Dairy/Food manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in managing and implementing QMS.
  • Knowledge of managing Non-Conformances and Audits.
  • Understanding of food handling or pathogen training, HACCP, ISO 22000 standards, GHP & GMP requirements.
  • Proven team management and problem-solving experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
  • Advanced computer skills, with SAP experience being an advantage.
