Electrical & Automation Technician

About the job

The Electrical & Automation Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems within the facility. You will be responsible for ensuring that the machines work well, and analyzing results obtained from the inspections for the purpose of meeting the company’s laid down standards and monitoring and operating machines that are designed to perform tasks that require minimal human intervention.

About you

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical and automation or related field
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, maintain LV/MV distribution systems and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience in the start-up of technical equipment or product lines
  • Participation in the development of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary
  • Experience applying analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text), SCADA systems.
  • Skills in calibrating and maintain sensors, actuators and instrumentation devises for automated processes.
  • Knowledge of NFPA70E standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedure and risk assessment for electrical hazards.
  • Ability to optimise preventive maintenance schedules and implement energy saving initiatives
